Ping G410 9* LST with the Stock X Orange Tensei.  Loved the shaft in my Plus, thought I would love the Pro more only to find out I didn't.  Should be easy enough to find head only if You wanted to try different shafts out in it at this point.

Spend the money on a @Fujikura GolfVentus shaft and let that SIM come to life. It’s been a game changer. I was always pretty confident in my driver but it’s been amazing in my SIM2 head this season.

we second this!

Criteria:

Can be bought under $300, so old stuff is fine.

SS runs about 115, mid-high launcher

currently playing an original sim with an attas T2 6x at 43.75”, and hit it fine, it just doesn’t “do” anything for me if that makes sense.

I went from a m2 to the sim last year, and haven’t tried anything else on the course over the last 3-4 years.

thanks in advance for the help!!

just wondering why you play such a short driver? tech is pretty limited on heads nowadays, maybe try a different shaft at 45 inches or so

Just hit it much straighter, and find the center of the face much more often.  Lost probably 10-15 yards, which I’ve been fine with, as I don’t play many long courses. Switched to this length about 6 years ago when using a taylormade R1 and haven’t changed since.  I may try 44.5 with my next driver.

Demo’d an epic speed this week on the course and I can say it felt very nice!  How would anyone compare it to the maverick (they didn’t have one available to try).

I switched to the Speed from Mavrik (then went to SIM2 Max) but now brought the Mav back into the rotation and currently all 3 are competing for the #1 spot.  I find the Mav and Speed both hot off the face, the Mav has a more muted feel, the Speed a "softer muted" feel; I really like both.  The Mavrik may be a touch more consistent for me and maybe a touch longer on avg.  I can't speak to specific spin #'s and such but feel, looks, ball flight and consistency, both are great drivers IMO and you can't go wrong with either. Be sure to get a shaft that fits you. I'm rotating between the Smoke, the RDX Blue and Tensei Pro White 1k with the RDX Black on the way.

TM SIM2 Max 9* dialed to 9.75*, Tensei 1k 50s, (Cally Epic Speed and Mavrik Std 9* with RDX Blue 60 6.0 or Tensei 1k 60s as backups), Titleist TSi2 4w RDX Black, Callaway Apex 3 Hybrid 19* 70S, Callaway Apex/Pro Combo TT Elevate Tour S, 4i and 5i TT Elevate 105S, Titleist 50.08F Titleist 54.10, Titleist 58.08, Callaway Double Wide Stroke Lab 35", driver SS 99-104mph, 2.2 index

Yup you wouldnt believe the accuracy i've gained dropping my length down.  I am not even sure I lost yardage, maybe gained as I am seeing a lot more drives over 250 on my watch/tracker.  I dont know why  people are so against shorter drivers unless your the bro who plays the tips when your avg drive is 225...then maybe those extra 10 yards mean a lot.

Other than that my courses are usually 6200-6500 and 250 off the tee, middle fairway works just fine for me.  Its better than 275 in the woods.

Amen.  I’m seeing about 265 average  with my short driver, and similarly I play courses mostly under 6600.  Don’t get me wrong, I can miss it too, but I’d say I probably hit 6/14 fairways with a 46” driver and 10/14 with the short one.  Just makes sense if I want to score better, as I don’t play enough to be consistent with saving par out of the woods.  Missing fairways for me at this point in life (38 and 3 small kids) means lots  and lots of tap-in bogeys, which drive me insane 🤣
