Titleist T200 2 & 3 irons- 2021 TPC Colorado Champ @ Heron Lakes

Recommended Posts

Titleist is seeding the new irons to their players out on the Korn Ferry Tour this week in Colorado.

FYI, the hot melt port will Not be moved to the toe for the retail version but it's because there will Not be a port on the retail version.  At retail there will be lighter and heavier heads available for builds so there isn't any need to add hot melt.

On the Tour truck, because of the variety of shafts that could be used, the port is essential to be able to get the head weights exactly what they need for a player.  Titleist feels that there will be mostly 2, 3, 4 irons of the T200 used by some players in a mixed set with maybe a 5 iron used occasionally.

These look much better than the U-505. I'm definitely interested in hitting one.

Is it just the 4-5 irons that will have the hollow head in retail or the whole set?

I would assume entire set.  They need to compete with everyone else in that bracket.  What I am assuming is they figured this is more or as forgiving as your old U500 series so they scrapped that and if you want your hollow smaller headed longer irons this is your choice.  If you want solid feeling clubs then T100/S is your choice.  And then have a single utility club that hopefully is slightly smaller than the u510 but just as friendly.

I wonder if they are going to install utility shafts into the T200.  Also if they are planning on swapping T500 for the T200 that could mean the price will go up.

I love these. Looks like these are going to be replacing U500 in the tour bags, which is why they made U505 the way they did. Pretty smart idea on their part. Looks like the offset is reduced a significant amount compared to prior T200 also.

I will be interested to learn what the lofts are on these new T200 long irons, because the original T200s were strong lofted.

Ya nobody seems to know the lofts of the T200s yet.  T100s PW is 44 so I would assume it is going to be same loft as the current T100S'.  Now if they are replacing the slimmer U500 with these they cant be as strong lofted as before, well I guess they could, but you know...

I don’t think them being strong lofted would necessarily be a bad thing. The player that’s going to want them more traditionally lofted is probably also a player who prefers less offset. So having them strong, then bent weak to blend with either T100 or T100•s would also reduce the offset in the T200 and bring them more in line with the 100 line.

Yes agree to a point, I hate bending wide soled clubs weak more than a degree.  They become unplayable.  I'd rather see offset than sole bounce into the ball in hard pan that I play in, but again that is just me.

It's interesting that they went 1º weaker in the long irons this year with the T200 (e.g. 2019 T200 4 iron @ 21º and 2021 T200 4 iron @ 22º).  I guess they did it to better blend with the 100•S irons.  Probably will sell a ton of combo sets with those two skus.  I do like how they used the polymer in the back to help save more weight for the tungsten and max impact material inside.  The support bar in the middle should also help create a solid feel as opposed to the 'click' from last T200 model, or other hollow body irons in general.

Just curious to how you know this? That means it will be the same loft as the T100s unless they dial that iron loft down too.
