Garmin Approach R10 Portable Golf Launch Monitor

I ordered direct from Garmin Australia and still saying ready to ship 3-5 weeks.

 

However Golfbox in Aust has updated shipping as below:

 

PRE-ORDER UPDATE:

• Pre-Orders placed before Mid July will ship late August.
• Pre-Orders placed between Mid July and 01/08 will ship mid September.
• Pre-Orders placed after 01/08 will ship late September.
• Please note this product is in high demand and limited supply so these dates are estimations and subject to change.

I'm in the UK and just got an email from snainton golf to say it has been shipped to me...so I expect I will get it on monday/tues next week

I'm actually in a bit of a bind....I heard about the R10 and ordered it just before I was about to pull the trigger on a mevo+ for £1400

 

Then a couple of days ago bought a mint mevo+(without the bundled E6 courses) for £1k as it seems like too good a deal to pass up, then I was planning to wait for user reviews of the r10 before deciding which one to keep as I don't want to open the R10 and then can't return it if the mevo is more accurate

Chances are high that you could recoup all of, if not more, of the money you paid for it if it doesn't work.

Hi - I ordered on July 7th and I understand that they had an initial batch of 50 units to sell. I've since had an email saying DPD will deliver today !

Well considering I don't yet have the garden area set-up yet ( 3 kids and a wife to keep happy ) ...it may be a week or so. I'll send some unopened box pics to keep you happy 🤣

 

What I'm hoping for is some decent youtube reviews with actual comparisons to skytrak/mevo+

Put those kids to work building you a hitting area, man!  Tell them 50 crazy people on golfwrx expect a full report from their old man by Monday morning.

Annoyed....ordered mine via Hotgolf, I was going to use Snainton but I had a 10% voucher.

 

When I ordered mine on 10th July, I got an email the following day via DPD stating order would be delivered the 12th July...but that wasn't the case...apparently Hotgolf just produced the label in "readiness".

 

Wonder if they actually were told to hold them back.

 

Apparently they've not yet received stock but "should do next week"

Please post any info you see on the 5 free E6 golf course subscription.  Can you run E6 with those 5 courses for free? Do you have to purchase a subscription to use them? 

 

Inquiring minds want to know.

Guys in England are starting to post YouTube videos up. Still don’t see a video with anyone comparing it to other launch monitors. Wonder if the UK got it first or they are just shipping before a certain release date.

One thing I will say is that it does not have an E6 Connect IOS licence key ( for the 5 bundled courses ) leaflet like the Mevo+ does....so not sure how you are meant to get that access if it is indeed included?

 

I've never seen an official statement on that - only on the Lets Play Through guy on Youtube

This is what I'm really interested in. I've got enough space for 8ft behind and 8ft infront (5m total) so curious if that's enough for it to operate well

Yes, I confirmed with Garmin (through Playbetter.com) that it does come with the 5 courses.  Interested to hear how this is accessed.

Cheers for this - I wonder how these courses are activated for the Garmin users as there is nothing in the box that mentions E6 at all

Maybe the license code is then displayed or automatically transferred to the Trugolf app

I just chatted with Joe from Garmin Support, asking how to access the free E6 golf courses.

 

Garmin Joe replied:  

I believe you will receive those 6 free courses when you register the device with Garmin.  

 

1. In the Garmin Golf™ app, select Golf Sim > TruGolf E6 Connect > Play on iOS.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions.

 

It looks like you have to link Garmin Golf to your R10 before you can access TruGolf E6 Connect. I tried it out on my iPad but since it isn't connected to an R10, I was transferred to Garmin's R10 ordering page.

 

I hope that helps. Give it a try if you're ready to register the R10, and let us know what happens.
