G/Fore - Is it the best or is it just me?

Recommended Posts

The MG4+ are the most comfortable golf shoes I have ever worn.

I got a Pair in November last year and they are still comfortable to this day

I was looking at getting another pair of MG4+

I read on a few other post about the MG4+ slipping but I have had no trouble at all

We have had over 60inches of rain so far in NOLA this year and I have yet to slip on the course

( I probably just cursed myself now)

As far as a catalogue, I just go to their website:

https://www.gfore.com/

Driver -COBRA FLY-Z 9.5*

5 Wood - PING G400 17.5*

Hybrid  PING G400 22*

Irons - PING G400 5-UW

Wedges - Callaway CB 54* ; Cleveland CBX2 Full Face 58*

Putter - PXG Battle Ready Spitfire-34in

Yeah, there is a Fall catalog out but I can't find it anywhere.

How is the sizing compared to other brands?

I was a 9.5 in NIKE and a 9.5 in the MG4+

I found the Gallivanters to be tight in the toes, but that is just me.

If you can find a store that carries Peter Millar golf wear, they might carry G Fore shoes and you can try them on to see what works.  If the store doesn't carry the shoe you want, they can order it.

That is how I found these shoes

Another strong positive review for the MG4+.   Most comfortable shoe I've ever worn by far. Can you slip occasionally?  Sure, same as any other spikeless tread design.  But I'll trade an occasional slip for my feet feeling amazing after walking 18 holes any time.

  • 3 weeks later...

I was running my mouth about how good these shoes were and then the leather cracked and they got wet and now they stink to high heaven

I had them for 8 months

They are still one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn

Now I cannot find a 9.5 in the MG4+  I like so I have moved on to the ZG21

Those look like hell for only being 8 months old unless you wear them 24 hours a day.

I was thinking the same thing. Shoes that are well taken care of don't just rip or tear out of the blue.

Looking at some gallivanters or FJ Tarlows.  Galivanters will be more comfy, no? The FJ premier line has no heel cushion, correct?

My first pair of gallivanters is approaching 2 years old. They have a little wear but I take good care of them (clean after each round, use Saphir cream regularly, polish them every couple months, use shoe trees). They still look good enough that I get people asking what brand they are frequently.

I've since bought 4 more pairs. Addicted. They are the most comfortable golf shoe I have ever owned.

I haven't done anything different then I have done to any other pair of golf shoes I have owned

After I play around I clean them off with a damp cloth to get all of the dirt off of them.

I have had golf shoes last for over 2 years.

The weather here has been horrible. It has been raining constantly and the course is soaked and muddy.  When it doesn't rain it is over 100* heat index.

I would still buy another pair of MG4+ in a heartbeat.

They are still the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn but they had nothing in my size.

If any of you Al Bundy's have a better way of taking care of golf shoes let me know

Moisture kills shoes like nothing else.

Do everything you can to get them dry quickly after you wear them.

Stuff them with newspaper after, use a hair-dryer on low heat, use shoe trees, some people like those charcoal odor eliminators.

I was using bounce sheets in my shoes

I heard that was a good idea

I was letting them dry naturally but will dry them off quickly

I am still bummed about my shoes and the fact I cant find another in my size

I got another pair but in my limited walking last night they were not a comfortable as the G4

I really want to like the G4's and they feel really comfortable when I've tried them on but in my opinion they're hideous looking and I feel as though they won't age well at all. Very similar to Ecco's.

Ecco's are great, but I agree that they age horribly.  The Yak leather ones in particular.  While still perfectly usable, the look awful quickly.
