Shirt Tail Out???

Well, actually... they look more like this:

At one point, I was all about being tucked in all of the time while on the course. These days I’m only tucking it in if I’m in a tourney, a private course, or if it’s a particularly long shirt. 
 

The course I play 9.9/10 times couldn’t care less and for some reason it’s now so busy with new clientele that the attire looks more like that of a theme park. 
 

I’m playing for leisure so I dress for it as well. Always a nice polo, but I often wear board shorts or Patagonia performance shorts. I’m at a rural golf course, not a banquet hall.  Always golf shoes though. 
 

All of that to say this: I dress for my surroundings.

I my book it’s always do as the course requires. Don’t like the dress code? Don’t play there.

Wore cargo shorts & black sox

Came to the 1st tee w music playing

Wore a "blade" collared shirt (You guessed it) untucked

For a tournament or a match or an invite to a private club? Sure I'll bring the best I've got. Pants and a nice polo.

 

I've been rocking tennis polos lately as they breathe well, fit nicely and I don't have to tuck them in during a 30C summer day at my home course.

 

Also who freaking cares. I couldnt tell you what one single person was wearing when I played today including my playing partners...Because I don't give a crap.

I get and follow basic golf dress attire. What I don't get is no black socks. I have seen this listed on the site more than a couple times now. I ALWAYS wear black ankle socks with shorts...because white looks STUPID.

 

Why no black socks? Even white socks with slacks looks stupid.

I think it's hilarious that Phil never played practice rounds with an untucked shirt when he was fat and now that he's the epitome of senior golf fitness he's going untucked in practice rounds on the regular

I haven't worn a tucked in golf shirt in 30 years ... went untucked when I was 9% bodyfat, went untucked when I hit 260, still untucked now that I'm somewhere in-between.

If the course has no dress code I'm in basketball shorts and a workout shirt.  I think the tour needs to start letting guys wear shorts and untucked shirts, dress codes are silly.

I'm a fan of the latest from Carhartt Golf.  And I never tuck.  Combined with their stretchy pseudo cargo shorts, it's a tough combo to beat.  And I can always get a game with the pretty boy with the new Callaway bag and Nike ensemble.
