There's no such thing but it's hard to beat any Ping G series over the last almost 20 years.

The best GI iron ever produced. Taylormade 09 Burners. Forget they are 12 years old. They are better than anything today. There is a full set on Ebay atm.

Funny you post this. I had no idea about them but have a set coming from a fellow WRXer.  Wanted to try a more forgiving set than my current RBZ Tour “F” heads…

Maltby KE4 TC Max MPF Pro Stiff
Callaway Rogue 3W Synergy 60

Maltby KE4 Tour TC 19*, 22* Matrix  HX3 White Tie
Taylormade Burner TP Japan Issue 5-PW DG120

Callaway MD4 Raw 52*, 58* DG115
Maltby PTM-5

You are going to love them. For a cast GI iron they are as soft as a forged iron, and as workable as any better players iron ive ever used. I progressed to wanting a better player iron when I lowered my handicap. Thats what you have to do right?

Well I always find myself going back to the burners. I'll never sell them.

I’m on drugs. I read your original post as “Burner Forged” even though there was a period LOL.   Supposedly the Forged Burners are good also but it was hard to find much info on them since they were a JDM release.

I've owned the forged burners, also the tp burners. The 09's are better than both imo.

I've just purchased a set of Burner Tours, so I'll see how they stack up.

Another vote for Ping G30 specifically but most of the G series irons are solid clubs.

Ping G425 12* set at the little - with a tour 2.0 65 stiff shaft

Callaway Steelhead III 18* 5W

Callaway Big Bertha Warbird 21* 7W

Ping G30 4-W, U, and S irons

Ping Tour 60* wedge

Have tried many GI irons, and still keep going back to my Ping G25’s. Love them! Great distance, forgiveness, basically point and shoot

That's the way my cobra S3s are. Long and forgiven. I really love the irons, I was just thinking maybe getting something else. I may just regrip these S3s and keep right on playing them

Ping G30 has a lot of fans. One golf shop bought more than a 100 G30 sets when they were being phased out. My brother got fitted for G30s two years ago and has taken several strokes off his game.

The Ping G from circa 2016 was also an excellent iron model. I almost bought a set after testing them at a golf expo, but $$ were tight.😒 Show-stopper: I was able to blow the ball out of medium rough with a 5i, and still hold the target green.

Another consideration is the CB Pro Tungstens, a 2016 model from the Tour Edge Exotics line. I play them, and like the even 4-degree loft gapping up and down the set. 4i = 22*, 5i = 26*, up through PW = 46*. The stock shaft length played to a 38.25" 5i, just above average for modern irons. This worked for me because I prefer irons slightly longer.

Stock shafts were KBS Tour 90 and a lighter Recoil in graphite.

CB Pros have the tungsten sole weighting, which helps launch the ball without needing an overly wide sole. Glides through turf nicely. Tradeoff: due to higher lofts they play a bit shorter than other irons, BUT, the ball sp-i-i-i-ns and stops when it hits green.

Also, consider the Callaway Apex from 2014 and 2016, if you can find a set. A bit more demanding than some GI irons, but if you sometimes practice you'll be OK.
