Does a software for tracking shots and stats WITHOUT your phone still exist?

Recommended Posts

Like the title says.
I used Game Golf ("Classic") for years and was happy with it. I had my clip-on device, I uploaded and edited my rounds using my PC, when I got home. I kept my stats that way.
After they introduced "Pro" it seemed to get worse, and now it doesn't work at all.

Is there anything one can use instead that doesn't involve an app for one's phone?
Mind you:
My mobile phone is turned off, when I am on the golf course and I don't want to change that. This is my time, my space, no calls, no messages, no e-mails.
Have we really reached a point at which nothing in our lives works without an app on our mobile phones?

I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

ShotScope watches work really well for tracking.

I was a GameGolf classic user prior and when they went belly up I bought the ShotScope V3 watch.  To upload your data you just sync the watch to your phone Shot scope app an it bluetooths the data in.  Then you can review your data via their desktop portal or through the phone app.  The phone all currently has more data points than their desktop app.  And there is no subscription service either.  The V3 watch ranges from $179-$219 depending on the time of year you buy it (sales and such).  The older V2 watch can be had for $99.  From what I read though its kinda large and clunky to wear while golfing.  The V3 is slimmer and light and doesn't interfere with the swing and such.

I thought Arccos came out with a belt receiver but don't quote me on that.  I am not into subscription services so I never really considered Arrcos.

How would you compare the data GameGolf gives you vs ShotScope? Also, do you have to actually wear the watch on your wrist, or could you attach it to your belt, for instance??

I was a Game Golf Calssic user and have had my Shot Scope V3 since last July. Between the desktop dashboard and the app, now that they have completely rolled out Shots Gained for multiple handicaps, I think you can dig down into the data deeper with Shot Scope. And yes it must be worn on the wrist; you cannot attach it to your belt or cart.

Thank you. The Shotscope V3 does look interesteing. I would only have to get used to waearing a watch when playing. I have never done that before. I use a Garmin Approach G6 as my GPS device, because it shows the hole layouts so well. But it has only rudimentary stats.

Before I had mine I never wore a watch to golf. After a round or so I don’t even notice I am wearing it. The key for me is to get the band at the right tightness. Too loose not good and too tight not good.

FYI, Game Golf was bought, they did not go belly up. I emailed Game Golf support and within minutes I had a response to help me.

Update:
I am very happy that Game Golf have fixed the problem. Not only does the upload work again, even the rounds that were seemingly lost show up on my dashboard now, and I can edit them.

But thank you all for the other suggestions.
