Social Media Wars between Juniors Dads

Recently noticed there is a lot accusations being said about other Junior golfers by their Dad's on social media.   The ones I am seeing are about girls that a lot people follow.

 

There is no mention of names but lots of back and forth between them.  The one girl is a top 10 and the other a top 100 girl.  It's pretty obvious who they are if you read the posts from both parents and notice that they were paired at few recent tournaments.

 

Not sure anyone knows if the rumors are true or has more background???  But it sounds like something happened at a tournament recently.  It sounds like the parents of a few girls are out hand and it's not a good thing.    Which is why I tend to believe the top 10 girls dad comments.

Actually if the reports are correct it means we have a Future Doris Chen out there.  Not sure why a Dad of a top golfer would go out there way to say anything and keeps mentioning it.  He claims to have videos.

 

There is no place in golf for a Doris Chen and what she did. So many girls are pushed by their dads and don't even like golf this why crazy stuff always seems to happen in girls golf.  With boys they either take the boy out back and give him a whoopping or he be laughed at off the course.

 

It's a non issue for anyone with boys but there is a few issues for girls if the reports are true.

Crazy stuff happens in boys stuff as well.  I will say the drama is less though.

 

You just raise your kids to be good human beings.  Doesn't matter if they aren't good golfers or not.

 

Their rankings and scores do not define them.

 

I listened to one dad talk trash about every 16-18 boy in a qualifying event yesterday.  His son was on the cut line.  As new scores were posted he would talk trash with his son and friends listening.  Poor example.

The problem is when parents are too involved. If your kid is going into high school and you feel the need to be at every tournament and take there score then you have an issue.

 

There are some events we played this year where the dad insists on taking the score and making sure there kids score is correct before handing it in and they do it in front of officials and will argue with the kid who was the scorekeeper. The really bad parents will keep the whole groups score.   These are kids in High School no reason to keep score.  The best events do not allow stuff like that to happen.

 

To me it sounds like maybe the girl who is being called out really doesn't like golf.  But because of early success they keep pushing.   For me if my Kid has a bad day it means we need to work on something. For them and a lot others it means that it's validation to quit.

 

Personally I think that is what is happening.

We have run into this with my daughter.  Her response is "Ma'am or Sir you're not my marker."

Well that is the issue they were at the scorer's table when it happened and thing didn't match up. Instead of the kids working it out. It was  actually encouraged and the official commented that the Dad was good for keeping score. It just isn't worth getting into a argument with parents when this sort of stuff is allowed.

 

Needless to say we are not playing those events now and seek to play at events where you are safe to drop your kid off without watching them if you need too.

One girl was on a famous documentary with Kids playing golf on Netflix and the other was on the TV series that was cancelled.  The dads are the ones posting. Look them up.

 

From there you should be able to figure it out especially if you look at tournaments played together. Something happened at a few tournaments because there was a lot going back and forth.

You can't post the link on WRX.    I have nothing to do with either parent. The parents  read these forums since the one girls Dad that was accused has posted on here before.  I was hoping we could get more information from them I hate to think those rumors are true.

I was totally joking about you being involved. I'm also a pretty capable internet researcher and can't find anything concerning this particular social media spat. I have nothing to do with junior golf, outside of casually perusing this thread. So, I'm officially clueless.

It goes back and forth the last few months.
