Las Vegas area residents need assistance.

A friend and I will be in Vegas next week.  We have times for Monday at Piaute (Wolf) and Tuesday at Coyote Springs.  We were thinking of Wednesday at either Rio Secco or Royal Links.

 

Help me out here in deciding.  I've played Rio Secco quite a few time and like it.  Played Royal Links once and because I was playing so badly it kinda bugged me.  But it's stuck in my craw so that I'd like to get back at it.  LOL

 

Is either one in better shape than the other at this time?  Any ideas other than those two?

Rio is Rio, if you like it stick with it.   I was told by my buddies that Links is in really in bad shape and it wasn't worth the money.  something abuts it not being maintained and may be up for sale?

have so far:

 

pauite wolf and sun

bears best

arroyo at red rock

siena

 

can you guys comment on how these courses fare during sept? any other course recommendations that might not overseed or hold up well during the transition?

So overseed is not transition.  Overseed is a complete scalp of the summer grass to plant winter grass.   The absolute best conditions for desert golf are in Sept-ish and then overseed happens.  One of the more depressing times of the year here in the desert. 🙂

 

So for overseed you need to determine when the course closes and then reopens.  The courses reopen after the grass has taken and is now pretty lush.  All courses will be cart path only and the fairways and green will be long and shaggy and slow.  There are no exceptions.

 

Paiute, Siena and Arroyo do not overseed.  Bears does overseed.  

 

Reflection doesn't overseed.  I think all the others do.
