Mizuno T22 wedges preview

I’ve been impressed with the amount of spin these produce.   On clean full strikes I can pull them back a good 8 feet, given I play one of the highest spin balls in the Tour B XS.   Short chips are easy to get the one hop and bite performance out of.   I’ve played older Mizuno wedges prior but the leading edge seemed to sharp and had a tendency to dig, the 22’s are much better in that aspect.   I do like the S400 and it’s nice they have it as a standard shaft.

After 2 rounds and 4 range sessions I continue to be impressed with these wedges and am very happy with the purchase. I mentioned previously that these are noticeably smaller than SM8, MG3 etc, while this made me nervous at first, it has for the most part been a non-issue. My biggest issue is the badging, not from a visual like/dis-like POV but from a practical standpoint. I have a 46/50/54/58 at it is difficult to tell the difference in the wedges and I have done several 2nd takes to make sure i grabbed the correct wedge as the font kind of makes the numbers  jumble together. It’s to the point I’m thinking about stamping PW,GW,SW,LW on the toe of the clubs. I never thought this to be an issue but it is for me…

thats interesting to hear. I may be in the same boat. I ordered the 50 and 54 so far with the 54 in denim copper to more easily identify it. But I may order the 46 in satin to match the 50 and then a 58 as well. Interested to see what you come up with on the stamping

Just picked up a 54/12 S grind to try something with a bit more bounce than the Zipcore 54/10 mid bounce I've been playing, it's almost too pretty to hit.  I love that it came with the Z-cord grip, which I already play on my wedges.  We'll see how the S400 tour issue shaft feels.

I'm really on the fence between copper and raw. Is there really a difference in feel between the two?

I don't know the details as to why or who failed a complaint. I just know it has been resolved and they are super excited to get these into the hands of golfers.

Had the same issue w my old Mizuno wedges so I ordered T22's w a stamp on the sole.  I thought about having buying different finishes, but didn't think I'd be happy, especially w 4 wedges.  I think looking at different colored wedges would perhaps add a bit more indecision, but I'm a mental case  anyway, lol

Anyone else find it interesting that the same grind changes in bounce as the loft increases? It's an exact correlation. Almost like it's the same head design just with the loft adjusted?

I believe there are 4 unique heads for the t22s and they're bent to fill the loft gaps.

Yes, Mizuno makes a few different heads with the assumption of going up or down 2* for different lofts and lies.

I have had these for about two months and they are awesome. Tried doing some stamping that didn’t really work out. I don’t have a big enough hammer. Haha.

the 60 c grind may be a smidge too low bounce but it is ok.

I sometimes have the same issue with the 60 C - When I remind myself to come in more shallow and return all loft at impact, all is solved.

Same hear.  Really excited for these and have never owned a raw wedge.  However after looking at used posts on eBay of the t20s and even seeing a new old stock of the T20 that had started to rust assuming from just the moisture in the air wasn't a fan.  Curious to see how the denim wears.

Isn't your 60 here an X grind, rather than a C  (i.e., 60/6, rather than 60/10) ?

Always found Mizuno wedges played to less bounce than stated. However on the T22 I found the 54-12S to play with more bounce than a Vokey 54-14F.

has anyone compared a T22 58-12D to a Vokey 58-12D?

Got my 50 S satin and 54 D grind in denim copper today with Nippon wedge 115s. Mizuno actually sent them with the stock shafts even when custom ordered and my local shop switched them out. The denim copper is a lighter color than I was expecting. Looks even better in person than any pics I’ve seen.

I think it will vary on what shafts you ordered them with.

I ordered a 55 D grind and a 60 X grind mid October and still haven't received them. Granted I ordered a +1 Nippon 125 Wedge shaft which is on backorder right now. Luckily golf season is sort of over here in the NE at this point so I'll get them when I get them. Just hopefully I get them before my trip to Florida for the Christmas/NYE holidays.
