King Cobra Pro MB Chrome & Satin Finish (2008-2010)

The Cobra King Cobra Pro MBs (as well as CBs) are some of my favorite Cobra irons of all time. I have seen a number of new heads on eBay recently, with both Chrome (what I remember as retail) as well as a nice looking satin finish.

Does anyone know if years ago they were offered in both finishes from Cobra in the MB? Maybe the satin finish is a tour van head or something if not.

The CBs seem consistently to be satin (atleast in the cavity). Thanks!

From my recollection, the King Cobra pro mb and cb were the shiny chrome and the S3 pro combo,cb, and mb (essentially the same heads) were the satin chrome. Have owned all of the above and they were a great iron 👍🏻

Be careful when sourcing some of these heads on the bay as several sources have those where headweight was quite a bit out of tolerances for “standard” set, very often with quite a few being heavy..this coming from a guy that tends to favor/prefer a  heavy headweight and swingweight.

I just purchased a great looking used set, I'm not much of a Cobra guy but I have been looking around for a nice set of MBs and these caught my eye with the right shafts and grips.  I'm going to build a GW for the first time to add to the set, the head did come from the bay brand new so I hope it is a reasonable weight.  Got all my components on order and looking forward to punishing myself with MBs for the first time in 10 years.

Got in the GW head.  Weighed at 287g with the plastic on (so minus a tiny amount).  Seems like a perfectly reasonable weight? and I should be able to get a good swingweight with the tip weights I ordered for the build.

On a side note I LOVE the way this head looks.  I can't wait to get the full set.

Was able to source a set of the satin cbs myself and played s3 pros years ago. Results  have been quite promising so far, relative to input from big lummox holding grip, of course 😃

It looks like these are conforming - that was something I wasn't too concerned about for my casual play, but nice to know they are.

I reshafted these with Elevate Tours and some BB&Fs and ordered up a 4i head from the same eBay seller - looking forward to completing the set once I can get into the workshop!

New In Plastic 2008? Good Find!

Great seller, I'd use them any time.  They have a lot of cool stuff!  This head was only $36 plus tax. They have sets of these iron heads 3-PW new in plastic for US$450, even a full satin set 2-GW for $540, not a bad way to build a set of blades.  They are really good blades, fairly forgiving actually...
