Leaving a tee next to someone's ball...

Easiest solution is to simply not touch someone else's golf ball if they have accidently hit it near you. It is a difficult concept for some of these people that get through life using passive aggression as their primary means of communication.

It seems you prefer actual aggression instead of passive aggression.

Not sure I get the issue here ...   You hit into group (accidentally) ...  they let you know it (non-violently, non-confrontationally) ... you made it confrontational?

When you hit into a group, no matter what the circumstance, you have absolutely no right to be the perturbed party.

lol as if we needed any more proof that you’re “that guy”

So you removed the tee, and your ball moved. Assuming you're mad that you had to debate whether it was a loose impediment or movable obstruction? At the very least I sure hope you put the ball back otherwise you should have been hit with a 1 stroke penalty, and now you're DQ'd.

That's got to be it, right?

2 strokes?  Man a DQ would have been the perfect end to this story.

Read this OP and saw 9 pages or replies and was terrified.  I immediately starting thinking 'Oh no, am I the moron for thinking this guy is a full blown Karen?'  Then I kept reading.  I have never been more proud of GolfWRX.  Thank you boys, for restoring my faith in humanity.

Imagine mistaking an in-person conversation for aggression. This is the world at the forward tees, I guess. 🤣

I cannot believe that this thread is still going. Leaving a tee next to the ball is, I thought, a pretty well known way of gently informing the golfer behind you that they hit into you, and to please be careful next time. It's wild that anyone would see that tee and think anything other than "oops, my bad."

Seems like not hitting into someone is easiest. No?

It would be difficult for them to move your ball if it’s not up by them.

Doesn't really seem like a topic that's troll-worthy, either.

It must be nice for you, never having to worry about it. I hope during your studies there is a subsection about situational awareness. A polite message indicating that when you can't see the tee box through those thick goggles of yours, they can't see you either.

5 - 6 mins from the time we last saw them. We waited 10+ on the box and then they were still waiting when we arrived. I can drive down but it's not a short drive and then I will have to wait until they address the ball so wasting 5 mins driving back/hitting my shot. I think it's certain to cause issues behind me but I'll give it a shot. 🤷‍♂️

This has been mentioned by others, but... You waited 10+ minutes on the box, but you think you couldn't make a 500 yard round trip to check in less time than that? What kind of carts does your course use, Fred Flintstone footmobiles?

Yep, you had no choice but to go ahead and hit.   I mean, forget about people's safety, think of the poor grass!   LOL

You must be drink cart guy. 9 deep through 4 holes and driving on the tee boxes. We don't allow cargo shorts and Budweiser t-shirts on our golf course so... I know this blows you away... For the 15th time, you cannot drive anywhere in the rough around the tee box. Period. There is not an exception.

Or what?

Too bad you couldn't have turned around where the cart path meets Sunrise Way.

How did your talk with the head pro go?   Did the members you hit into get suspended?

Did you forget that when you sit 300 yards down the fairway, the group behind arrives at the box as well? Perhaps I can carry a stop sign in my bag to place on the path while I take my tour of the golf course. Or perhaps I can be the genius that brings his drone with him and flys it down the fairway. Safety first!

True, but he’s been trolling this along and keeping it alive. A little slanted tee emoji we could park next to his posts would be a nice touch. 9/10 “was I wrong” threads answer is “yes”, but never disappoint.

that’s rich from the guy who thinks hitting into the group ahead is the responsible play.

That's rich from the guy carrying a ball retriever that extends to 35 ft. and plays with no situation awareness or care for the groups behind him.
