Morikawa the next person to complete the slam

Seems like a reasonable bet.  He has already surpassed the single major winners, J Day, JT, Hideki, BDC, Rahmbo, P Reed.  Doesn't seem injury prone, not trying to smash the ball.  I think the bomb and gouge players will be stymied by the Open Championship courses.  I don't really see BK or DJ winning the Open.  And Rory has been in a funk forever.

I'd put money on this, absolutely.

As good as his irons play is, all he needs to win is to just make some putts. Sounds ... dare I say ... almost like Tiger.

On a personal note, I don’t know if he has the right game for Augusta. Call it a hunch.

I already called him as the dark horse to surpass the current crop in major tally. It’s wild how many guys have 3 of the majors and find one to be their Achilles Heel (Spieth, Palmer, Phil, etc)

A bag of left-handed junk.

He has 2 majors and you guys are estimating double digit and 18plus majors

This happens to every major winner always posts or threads "Wow so and so will continue to dominate and win everything like they did this weekend"

Great playing this weekend, the next year or two will show us... Fun to speculate but let's be realistic l.... 10yesrs ago  we all thought Rory would have 10 by now too 😂,

That's all this is speculation sir.  Having said that, prior to Morikawa, I was convinced if Tiger didn't get to 18 then no one in my lifetime would (I'm 36).  The guy is only 24, no weaknesses, not a head case, and not a gym rat so should have a long career.

He definitely has the game and nerve to do it. However Tiger has distorted our perceptions of what is realistic. We are quick to crown the young guns with early success. But Tiger’s trajectory is an anomaly. And Jack’s record is from a different era.

I do not think that either of those dynamics will be recreated anytime soon. They made it seem achievable, however winning multiple majors is becoming more difficult every single year. The fields are only getting stronger.

The masters will be the tough one.  I think he is good enough to do it though.  Jack managed to get it done an bunch as a fader so no reason with a little time Collin can’t.

spieth and Rory are still the most likely to complete it first though.  I could see all three of them getting it done in their careers.  Who knows though?

Morikawa definitely has the game to win the US Open.

I am not sure about the Masters though.

The boy just needs to putt well and he will always be in contention.

@iBanesto if Morikawa= Yoshi... who would be Mario (Koepka with the moustache?), Luigi, Bowser, Princess 👸 , etc?

Were Heading Park's greens on the slow side?  Trying to remember but I'm drawing a blank.

Me too. It’s more his SG Putting stats in general.

His SG tee to green is insane. But so is Rory’s. And lots of guys who putt better than him.

So, it’s more that, unless he improves his putting, his chances to win are hurt.

I think he moved to the claw and it clearly worked. If his putting is even just “good”, he has as good a shot as any of the best guys to win a GS

Just seems it’s a ridiculously hard thing to do.

Sarazen, Hogan, Player, Jack, TW

Thats it.
