Need One (More) Course to play in Scottsdale Area

I'm headed to Scottsdale this week as some family just moved out there. I'm playing Troon North (Pinnacle) on Friday morning, but don't know the area well enough to know where I should play Saturday morning. Many of the popular recommendations (Grayhawk, We-Ko-Pa, TPC Scottsdale, Quintero, The Boulders) are all booked up in the AM which was to be expected. I'm looking at The Phoenician, Kierland, McCormick Ranch (Pine), Camelback (Padre), Wildfire (Palmer) as potential options. My home club is also a ClubCorp club and the nearest to where I'm staying is Gainey Ranch which could be a possibility?

Any recommendations from the group I've mentioned. Length/difficulty/etc... is not too important, mostly interested in good conditions and good layouts.

How early are you trying to play?  I find it hard to believe that there is not room for a single.  You may want to call just in case.

 

But if they are truly booked.  Legend Trail was just reported to be in pretty good shape, just slowish greens.  That is a good option.

 

Verde River and Grayhawk have mid morning times.  

 

The other courses you listed would be a no go option for a visitor - both for quality and condition.    Padre is ok and decent shape.  

 

If you are Club Corp - you should try to get on Anthem.  Gainey is a short and blah course.  Anthem has 2 really good courses.

Hoping to play before 8AM, though the weather forecast is now looking a little iffy. Will see if I can get on Anthem and if not I may just suck it up and play in the afternoon. Appreciate the advice!

EDIT: I was able to get on Grayhawk (Talon) before 7AM. Looking forward to it.
