Odds on Europe are now +225, so if you really think they will win, put your money where your mouth is and go make some cash. Odds have gone heavily toward the US in just the past 24 hours.

It's been discussed before but fans this year are going to be like no other year. They have been waiting and waiting to support their country and their team and they are going to show up big time.

Also don't forget that the US saved Europe from Nazis in WW2 and then again from Communism.

Lol.  Not sure what that last part has to do with a golf tournament, but ok.

I predict a 14-14 tie, with Europe retaining the Cup.  Brooksie (the real one) will hurt his wrist, or ankle, or knee, or hip during his single's match and have to concede the point, resulting in the overall tie.

I think the US will win because we are the younger team (by about 5 years) and but still have a few guys who have experience in these cups. Call me crazy but I think Poulter and Westwood will be liabilities this time around. I highly doubt Westwood is fit enough to play 5 matches, Poulter will be useless in best ball (this course is too long for him).

I've said this before, but Rahm is the only guy who I'm worried about this time around. I think in every match we need to put Cantlay up against Rahm. If we hold Rahm to 3 points that's a win for us IMO.

Rahm beat Cantlay by 3 shots in the Tour Championship, I believe, net of the 4 shot advantage Cantlay was given at the start of the tournament.  He beat him by one in the last round, too.  I think DJ would match up well against Rahm, or Bryson.

I think Cantlay matches up pretty well with any player on tour at the moment. One tournament means nothing really.  He's also number 1 in scrambling and number 3 in SG off the tee. Cantlay is the best player in world right now IMO with Rahm being a close second. Bryson is a complete nutcase who's more focused on the long drive challenge and will be a horrible alternate shot partner.1587517188_ScreenShot2021-09-14at5_53_48PM.png.73a2fd9e9ad6473269c9e3bfb2390af8.png

Anybody see Koepka's comments on how nobody really knows/likes being in a team environment with meetings and such. Hes accustomed to laying back and watching TV after a round

Brooksie is quite self-centered with a low EQ.

Why would Westood play 5 matches? I bet if (and it's a big if) Poulter plays best ball, he finds a way to contribute.

How would you put Cantlay up against Rahm every match? Cheat?

Odds on the US winning the rider cup are in the -150 range, so if you REALLY think that the US has no chance then you can make a fortune. Unfortunately it's not so simple.

I think the US will win it.

1. USA has better a better squad when you look at individual players.

2. The fans are going to be off the chain and will get into the heads of these Euro players who are used to playing an aristocrat game in their home countries where the worst offense they can imagine is improper grammar.

3. If TW shows up then it will swing several points toward the US in rallying our side. TW on the battlefield is worth forty thousand men.

Have you ever been outside your basement?

Impressive analysis, but its matchplay in the RC and I reckon Berger will go 0 and 4. We'll see.

If Berger plays 4 matches, something horrible has happened in the US locker room.

Yes, it does.  As I've said before, I am clincially trained, plus I employ a few psychologists, my wife is a Clinical Director over clinical psychologists, then there are my buddies; an agency psychologist, a psychiatrist/MD and an Orthopedic surgeon, don't know how he got in there. 😛  Measuring people depends on where their experience is founded.  You have a good wkend.

Oddly enough, this one of the least self-promoting posts Pepper has ever made.

At least they are not arguing amongst themselves, although when Stricker reads their comments, he might wonder where the Ryder Cup rests among their priorities. First up was DeChambeau, who seems as concerned with getting ready for the Professional Long Drive World Championships in Nevada, which takes place the week after the Ryder Cup.

The 27-year-old admits the exhaustive training schedule has affected his body. "My hands are wrecked from it,” he told Golf.com "People don't realise how difficult long drive really is. In golf, it’s the one thing where you can judge your accomplishments by a number.

I predict BDC will be broken down by his late 30's. Between the weight gains and high speed training--not a good recipe for long term back and neck health.

I said "I highly doubt Westwood plays all 5 matches". Read my f'n comment before replying. Also I just stated my opinion about Cantlay and Rahm. Rahm is probably gonna win all 5 matches and the best way to prevent that is make sure Cantlay plays him as much as possible.

Why is there so much hate towards Daniel Berger?  Seriously.  The guy has big-time game.  Outside of Morikawa is probably the best iron player on the PGA Tour.  300 off the tee and usually in the fairway.  Hits the mid and long irons extremely well, which is going to be important at WS.  One of the best birdie machines on Tour.  He's exactly the type of player you want in a match play setting - someone who is always on the green in regulation and makes a lot of birdies.  Yet people continue to talk about him like he's some sort of scrub.

A team of Morikawa and Berger would be awfully tough to beat, either in 4-ball or alternate shot.  That's a pairing I would like to see.

I'm not sure what the hate is towards Berger. Very solid player tee-to-green and an above average putter. He's played some good golf this year including a win and top 10s at the Players, US Open, and Open also top 20 in the world.

Honest question: Who would you take over Berger?

I don't get it either.  His birdie to bogey ratio is one of the better on the USA team.  His stats in 2021 are virtually universally better than the one guy some people think should be on the team based on success a "golf eternity" ago.

That is, cut and paste, what you wrote. You're either a liar or have a poor memory.

And you "stated" that you thought "every match we need to put Cantlay up against Rahm."

You realize we can all go back and read what you wrote, right?
