PXG 2021 0211 versus Gen4 0811

Your SIM is better than both PXG heads so if you are having issues with it I'd look at a shaft fitting before buying a PXG driver. Also, they aren't really on sale it's just their current marketing strategy after initially having super expensive clubs. Everything they sell is cheaply made in China and they have decided it's more profitable to lower prices and sell more product so that's what is happening. The prices are not returning to prior levels anytime soon if ever.

I have the Gen4 0811 X with a Ventus Blue 6X.  I would not say the TM product is better.  I hit this driver better than any driver I have owned.  It kicked the Titleist TSi3 out of the bag for me.  The Gen4 has a tremendous amount of adjustability with the head weights and shaft orientation.  Once I got mine dialed in by moving the lie angle 3 degrees flatter (try that with the TM) and moving the weights by adding another 5 grams to the low center location, the strike pattern improved tremendously and my launch went up with less spin.

Anyone have experience with both these drivers and can tell me the difference between the 2021 0211 and the Gen4 0811 x?

I play a SIM MAX right now and wanted to pick up one of these PXG drivers while still on sale. Thanks.

I owned the OG Sim and SIm Max and the Gen4 0811X is much better. Sounds better, feels better, and is longer than the Sim Max...for me. It is not a fade machine like the Sim line. They are high quality clubs at a great price. That is for each person to decide what they want, but the Gen4 driver at this price is a straight steal! I have not hit the 0211 driver because the 0811X is such a great price.

And they build time is very fast for any Gen4 right now.

For me the 811x is a little bit less spin. Personally I like the feel and sound of the 0811x better too, but the 0211 is still a great driver, and for the price it is hard to beat.

I currently game the PXG 0211, 9 deg with Tensei Pro White. Also own a SIM 9 deg and have tested a friends SIM MAX.

For me, the PXG was the better club, just through consistency, accuracy and the face height at address. The sim is much more shallow and miss is slightly high on the face, plus the PXG seems more neutral over the SIM which likes to go right.

For what its worth, I'm a 1 hcp and find the 0211 more forgiving than both the SIM and SIM Max. Plus it looks great at address and sounds perfect, to me anyway.

Like the OP, what I'd like to know, is the Gen4 worth upgrading to over the 0211? Is it worth the extra money? The 0211 is maxed on ball speed, sounds and looks great, does the Gen4 just provide increased fitting options?

It's has a few extra weight ports to help dial in optimal spin and flight pattern for those needing additional refinement over 0211. Based on your input and abilities, you might not need help in those areas. I don't know this for sure, but I'm willing to bet the head is slightly lighter than the 0211, as Gen4 is over Proto, and will produce slightly faster ball speeds. For $70 more, I'd purchase the Gen4 over the 0211 just for the option to tinker. Worst case scenario, you end up with a quality backup or sell whichever one you don't want and make a little money back.

Really good points, I currently bag and own the 0211 but here in the UK the Gen4 works out to around US$485..........around 70% more than the 0211. I might sell some shafts and my SIM and try to snag a Gen4 later on.

I must say, I am very impressed with the 0211 though, price aside. It is the closest thing I've hit to the TM M2 2016.

I have the 0211 with the Diamana shaft, 45 inches was the standard. 10 gram weight, 9 degree. Also have the 0811 XF Gen 4. 45.5 standard with CB riptide. Weights were 2.5 in heel and rear, 10 grams in the front. I tinkered. Switched the shafts, then switched them back. Put a 2.5 weight in the  0211 and left it at 9 degrees. It hits lower line drive shots on tighter fairways when needed - still the most modest of fades for me.

The 0811 has 10 in the front and heel and 2.5 in the rear. 10.5 lowered to 9.5. For me it’s a fairway finder. Both sound good, both feel good. The Aluminum Vapor crown is not really an issue. I could easily play either regularly, but the increased adjustability on the 0811 makes it my favorite, best for me since 2016 M2.
