Valuing clubs

Is there a board where we can ask what clubs are worth?  I have been out of golf for a few years and lost track of what things costs.  Thanks.

This is a good source. It's not perfect, but it will give you a general idea as to the value of a club. Ebay is also good and you can search past sale prices for the exact clubs you are looking to sell.

eBay which is one of several sources the Value Guide uses for determining resale value.

I went to the PGA values website and I though they over valued my bag.   I would be happy if they undervalue the clubs.  This is what I have and their value is around $900:

 

Driver- Titleist 915 D2 9.5* with Aldila Alpha RIP
3 Wood- Titleist 915 FD 15* with Project X 8c4
Hybrid- Titleist 816 H2 21* with Motore speeder
Irons- Titleist 916 CB 4-P with Modus 3 tour 120. Good shape. The 4 iron has a ding on the sole.
Wedges- Titleist SM5 52*,56*,60* with Modus 3 wedge 125

This is probably a good starting point for most big brand OEM stuff. JDM and niche brands are definitely an exception, as most of the stuff is exceptionally low on the Value Guide.

 

I'll buy every single set of Baby Blades they say I can find for $350 - $450 resale hah.

Value guide is your bottom trade in value. Then like others have said reference Ebay and go from there.

If you go to the PGA Value Guide site... use the "Research" link and you will get a range for the resale value... the range is of course dependent in part on the condition of the club. Ebay past sales also works for me.

Thats a nice set up. You could sell it all separately and get more than $900 IMO

PGA value guide was offering a 15% cash bonus so I sold them some irons earlier this month.  I'm going to get about $650 with the bonus.  My irons are now on sale at global golf (who runs the value guide) for $1700.  They also say it can take up to 15 business days to issue my check.  Basically they're going to try to sell my irons in those 3 weeks without being out of pocket any cash.

Hard to believe as I'm betting the eBay "recent sales" are MUCH higher than the Value Guide.

 

All the stores use the value guide for trade-ins. They know they can get a much higher price at retail. eBay's numbers are closer to, but still lower than, a retail sale.

 

It's like a car dealer. Customer comes in with "KBB says I should get this for my trade in" and the salesman laughs gently as if talking to a small child and says "But we don't use KBB".
