Is your launch monitor and mat on the same surface? Mine are SLIGHTLY different. The black gym floor you see in my pic is 1 inch thick. My mat is 1 and 5/8. So the unit is SLIGHTLY lower than the hitting mat, then add a tee and its some inch and a half to 2 inches higher than the hitting surface.

Do you think that the 5/8 difference could be an issue?

Yes

I have that matt under my turf and the device is on the turf.

No, I appreciate the input. I am glad that I am not the only one experiencing it. A friend of mine has a BLP and he has NO issues with it not detecting a swing...and his BLP is about 1 inch LOWER than the hitting surface. Add a tee and youre at 2+ inches below the hitting surface, plus his lighting isnt as good as mine. He needs to come over and see if he can replicate the issue but I am thinking not. It has something to do with how I take away the club. The faster I take it away, the more issues I have with it not reading. And when I say "faster", I mean faster than a deliberate swing, so really not that fast at all.

From what I've seen when the BLP/GC3 is below the hitting surface, the issue tends to be more about launch angles not being measured correctly rather than ball detections issues. Also, the ambient lighting shouldn't have any meaningful impact as the LM operates in the short IR range and gets all the light it needs from the LED flashes. The mat moving is the most likely culprit.

Anyone have issues with BLP spin being too high ? + handicap who plays on quad a decent amount, got some hybrids with like 6500 spin, roughly double what I’d expect. Basement seems pretty well lit but not sure if that mattered. Did a few searches and came up with nothing.

I wouldn’t expect double from a ball but are you using the same ball as with the quad?  Anything about the environment causing a different swing?  Are launch angles the same?  I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone having double spin yet.  I’d try a couple different brand balls and see if there’s something funky with how the machine is seeing it?

I use the same black mats next to my setup for the launch monitor and ended up double stacking them to where the unit is slightly above the mat and it seemed to help the misreads.

I followed the advice and downloaded the free upgrade to FSX Play. While the graphics are better I'm now getting a bunch of issues with connectivity. I've got my BLP connected directly to the computer, not via wifi, and after about 5-10 shots it disconnects over and over again until I reboot the entire system. Once I start it up again I'll get the same 5-10 shots then rinse and repeat with the dropped connection.

This was never an issue for me using FSX 2020. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I also followed the online guide for transferring my courses from 2020 to play and have had zero luck. Maybe it's due to connectivity issues? I figured I would just call customer support for this but the constant connection dropping makes it unusable.

did you go back to FSX 2020 and hit balls at the range? FSX Play is buggy.

Yes, FSX 2020 still works great with no issues. Seems like it was a lot of wasted time trying to fix Play.

sorry to hear. Good you asked us here. Ya at least 2020 is working. I like the FSX Play graphics but not as functional as 2020. I hope they don’t go away with 2020.

At least you know it’s a software issue and not the monitor. Always a good thing.

The issue I’m having is using GS pro and it will occasionally disconnect at the range. Overall love it. It even has Face Angle calculation too. Can definitely tell when the face is closed or open.

GS Pro > FSX Play & FSX 2020 all day

Do other people notice the spin numbers being round numbers often? Like for instance will often see 5000 or 11000 rather than 4952 or etc. not sure if that reflects on some kind of estimation it is making or it just inherently rounds. Not something I’ve noticed on quad.

high spin stuff persists with all clubs basically. Was hitting some hybrids pure and getting 6500. 3 woods around 5000. Not really possible for a good strike.

No, I’ve been getting regular spin rates without any rounding

Anyone have an issue getting FSX Pro on PC to work with BLP?

I open up FSX Pro, and at the log in screen, hit the “Subscription” button. I connect the BLP, and then have the option to enter password for FSX Live. I enter the correct password (username is also correct), and then get an error message: “fsx pro password not matching or the player creation event failed”.

experiencing the same how did you fix it?

Never had an even, rounded type spin that I can recall.  Could be something funky with the unit.  Probably need to call support.

Anyone getting unusually low launch and spin from their irons? Was practicing last night and launch and spin seemed way off from normal. I haven’t changed anything recently (clubs or balls). Last night I was launching my 6 iron 10-12 degrees (normally 15-16) and only getting 3500-3800 spin (normally 5000’ish). I haven’t changed my swing or anything.  Seems weird that all of the sudden these two metrics have dropped so significantly. I’m playing low spin irons, Srixon ZX7, but this was well below typical.

I even tried switching to high launch higher spin balls like the ProV1x and they had the lowest peak height. Something seems off.

Did you change your unit position relative to mat height, all being the same it seems like maybe unit is lower than previous sessions. Other than that I’m stumped.

Anyone else having a hard time getting the reflective alignment stick to work? My BLP doesn’t seem to ever pick it up, even when I hit the target alignment in the menu. When using a GC quad, it picks it up immediately.

I have never been able to align my BLP. It doesn't "see" the alignment stick. I called Bushnell and was told there was a problem with some of the stick's "reflectiveness". They're sending me a new one

Thanks for the info. Exact same problem. Please let me know if replacement works.
