Bushnell Launch Pro Device with Foresight

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I mean Trackman follows your ball through the entire ball flight and it’s yardages aren’t “exact”. People test real shots with a rangefinder and it’s almost always different.

Anyway, I was told that next week by a Bushnell rep they’d unveil pricing and software details.

I also asked about when they would actually ship and the rep said they didn’t know, which isn’t a good sign that it’ll be soon.

Looking forward to hearing these details.  I am looking to upgrade my Skytrak and it's between this and a Uneekor QED

The same - I know we dont get "exact" data but I just want enough information to know my swing speed, the direction the ball went and the distance so I can work on my game.

I don’t think there’s any doubt the launch pro will get you these data points and on a best-in-class basis, accuracy wise. The GC2’s ball data is elite - I’ll put it against trackman indoors - and I can’t imagine the GC3 won’t be at least as good with ball data and capturing CHS just isn’t that hard.

The only questions are when and how much.

IMO Uneekor has the best value for all of the features. My only complaint about QED is marked balls. I would love the EYEXO but I just can't convince the wife.

I really hope we get one dot club data, but I am starting to doubt that we are going to get anything but clubhead speed.

It seems like these promo's keep mentioning is clubhead speed and nothing else.

I was thinking 1-dot clubhead data was a given, but the more I think about it i'm not so sure.

From what they've shown so far, it looks pretty similar to GC2 metrics. Which I'm totally fine with if it can be picked up at $3k.  This advertising campaign has been pretty weird though.  Like why not come out and list the metrics? I kinda wonder if they're keeping it under wraps as they figure out this Foresight acquisition deal.  Like maybe the GC3 will have 1 dot data, and the LP will be locked down and be GC2 based?

I was thinking the same. Seems like it will be available but not at the base price. 😒

In the screen shot provided in the email you can see three dots at the bottom of the screen making me think you can swipe or toggle over to see additional data - like CH data..

Correct

I thought it was an email from a rep? I'm pretty sure the actual images I saw were just the pages from the GCQuad manual to show as an example.

Were images posted on one dot capability on that cached version of the foresight canada website that someone found with the video and everything?

Good catch on the dots at the bottom

If one dot clubhead info ends up being a reality, based on everything i've heard there's no shot the base price will include clubhead data

Which I guess isn't rlly all that surprising given how foresight has structured their pricing in the past

On page 11 of this thread someone posted images from the foresight Canada webpage compare monitors section. They compared the GC3 to the quad. the GC3 showed all the one dot metrics.

Yeah I think the most likely scenario would be club head speed only at the base price and pay more to unlock full data. I hope I'm wrong, but based on Foresight's prior business model I don't think I will be.

I will say I do think they absolutely have to include club head speed at the base price to entice the more casual market since it's probably the biggest (albeit important) vanity metric in the sport.

Does it matter at all that Mevo + has CHS, smash and AoA for $2k and Full Swing Kit adds path and face to path for $4k (if it ever actually comes out)?  Probably not as they will market the accuracy of the unit over Mevo + and camera based over Full Swing.  I think there is a chance you don't see any one dot data unless its coupled with simulation costs for another $2-4k.

Guess it depends what you want. The Mevo and swing kit will both require 16 or so feet of space whereas the launch pro like all camera based systems needs virtually no space. If the launch pro has the same accuracy as most foresight units than mevo and swing kit probably wont compare. Swing kit being a brand new product is bound to have bugs, the launch pro probably will as well however with foresights long-standing reputation I have more faith in them to correct them quickly.

If the launch Pro has one dot club to me that puts it well above mevo as far as a training tool.

Not if you want to use it indoors. What’s the point of the data if it’s not reliably accurate.

Camera based is a lot easier than radar. Radar indoors you need all of the stars to align( a ton of space, no metals or anything that causes interference, dots on balls, etc etc)

Full Swing Kit is definitely coming out though. I happen to update my E6 when I noticed this little leak.

I agree - that was my point a few pages earlier - I dont need a ton of data, but I do want data I can rely on for a reasonable price.  Things like club path and face angle would be amazing but candidly, I can live without them because I can see the ball flight.  I just want to know that the swing speed, carry distance, spin and direction are correct.

Found this nugget from the CFO of Vista Outdoor from a presser on 9/15/2021:

"The Foresight acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to earnings, excluding transaction and transition costs. Priyadarshi said Foresight’s margins “will compress a bit” as its technology is extended to consumer markets and internationally but would still be “much higher” than the overall 15 percent to 20 percent EBITDA target Vista set under its three-year plan detailed out on its Investor Day."

Good find. Seems to corroborate the idea that the base package for the Launch Pro will basically be a GC2 with a third camera for only $3,000.

I’m holding out hope for a GC Quad price drop. I just don’t understand how they will be able to sell a fully featured GC3 for $7k USD and sell the less capable GC Quad for $14k.

Stop with the nonsense.... $2999 starting price w/ only be ball speed, carry, club head(will need 1 dot sticker), spin, smash and horizontal and vertical launch. Price will go up from there.

I would love it if Quad price dropped but I would not hold my breath. If anything, I would drop the price on the Hawk. I don't think it sells as much as the GC2 and Quad.
