The locked spin axis is pretty ominous for people expecting a cheap launch monitor that gives everything without a substantial subscription cost. And if you need to pay a subscription just to get ball data, what are you going to have to do integrate it with non-Foresight software? Thats a big red flag to me.

The MGS teaser on Instagram briefly showed the GC3 screen with a 🔒 under the Spin Axis data point. 

 

Not sure if this is related, but in the same video, the first screen showed the device in "Club Mode". Yet there were backspin and carry data points...🧐

Total spin is included for free. To get the axis, you need to have the gold package.

Advice from someone who battled to get a console that sold out in seconds every week competing with scalpers: make a Bushnell account, add all your address and payment info so it's ready to pre-order in a couple clicks. I'm sure exact time 10/4 will be released, so log in prior to that and be ready to hit pre-order asap... Assuming they'll go fast and there's limited stock.

I want to agree with you, but you think the demand is there? A $3k golf sim is very different than a $600 Xbox/ps4

I think you would be surprised. Quads and GC2 sell about 3000 total units a year on average. There are already 1100+ people in the Bushnell Pro Facebook group watching this. Add in a few more people that are also watching in this group and in the hackers paradise group and you probably have 1500+ people watching. That's probably at least six months worth of back order if all those people order. I'm not saying that's a huge number but unless the Bushnell supply chain really outdoes what foresight was doing there just won't be 5,000 units hitting the market all at once.

oh it's there, don't forget when Flightscope's Mevo + came out. It took over 12 weeks to get. People were paying double the price when it came out. Yes it was also during the lockdowns but I wouldn't be surprised if they sell out that day and are not ready until close to the holidays or after the holidays.

Well, this has turned out to be even more of a no brainer for me than I’d hoped.

Requiring the Gold membership to get backspin seems silly. However, if the GC3 comes in unlocked for $7K that’s a five year break even point so the Bushnell pricing seems reasonable.

It's only 800 if you want clubdata. It does suck that there is not a club data without the other add-ons option.

One thing to keep in mind is that even though some of the data will be “locked” from view from users on the silver or bronze memberships, it’ll still be captured and factored into the ball flight it shows you (at least I certainly assume this is the case).

OK this is a no brainer for me. So now tell me what I need to really get my moneys worth out of FSX 2020. Also as a subscription product you may get free upgrades being that there's been rumors of a new FSX product coming out.

supposedly it will be available before next year's PGA Show. I was told it should be free with those that have purchased FSX 2020, not sure if that is the same for subscription.
