Bushnell Launch Pro Device with Foresight

Tracking flight duration appears to be the biggest remaining differentiator between the X3 and Mevo+ Pro.  There are others, but it seems tough to justify the 5X price difference between X3 and Mevo+ Pro, right?

Beyond a bigger radar, the X3 does offer more functionality like ability to set more environmental factors, auto leveling, face impact location (?), etc.. Still hard to justify unless you are a pro

So been following this thread for all 69 pages - sorry if I missed it but the interface between GC3/LP and iPad currently is not working ? Something that will be sorted with a firmware update soon I hope…

my intended use for what looks like the Launch Pro for the initial 3 k instead of the 7 k (wife would flip!),  is to use at the range, on course late in the day when holes are open, and in the driveway into a net. Unfortunately, an indoor sim setup is not feasible in the near future.
I Understand that there is the screen on the unit, but having the data on the iPad would obviously be ideal.
foe me it’s about accurate carry yardage (gapping) spin, apex, and descent angle.
Also, does the software on the app allow for saving sessions to be reviewed later?

It works now I have been using it

Did you ever retry this with a sticker on the putter to see if club metrics were captured? Has anyone else?

Yes, I cut out the flat part of the reflective sticker tab and stuck it to my putter.  I can confirm that it reads the putter path as well as the AoA!

I finally got my GC3 unit setup.  Received email on 10/20 and got the unit via UPS on 10/26.  I am on the East Coast.  The initial setup was definitely slightly wonky as others have indicated.  But once I reached out to Foresight and got the things ironed out, everything is fine.

I set it up first with just my iPad mini as I wanted to check chipping distances.  It worked out well and is much better than Garmin R10 (in terms of the path, push/pull).  But word of caution, if you do this first, you will not be able to "activate" your FSX 2020 on the PC as FSX 2020.  The way to fix this would be to log into your FSX Live account on a web page and click on the "Deactivate" on your FSX 2020 associated with your iPad.

Do not worry that you will lose that activation key.  I can confirm that you can re-use the same key emailed to you to activate the FSX 2020.  Once it's activated, the courses all loaded fine.

In terms of hooking up GC3 to the PC, I can confirm I got the following to work:

1)  GC3 connected to wifi, and PC connected to wifi or through ethernet on the same network

2)  GC3 connected to network via ethernet cable, PC connected through wifi/ethernet on the same network

3)  GC3 connected to the PC via wifi, and PC connected to the network via ethernet.  This one is slightly tricky, as you will need to power on the GC3 and maybe wait a little while (1-3 mins) to log into GC3's wifi network (It would be <GC3-(your serial#)> and password <FSSPORTS>

4)  GC3 connected to the PC via USB cable provided by Foresight, PC connected via ethernet or wifi

Once you properly activate your FSX 2020, the connection is fairly stable b/t GC3 and the PC.

Hope this helps people in getting their GC3 setup.

My friend bought a BLP and is having a hell of a time setting it up with his ipad.  App keeps crashing.  Bushnell support was no help to him.  Just told him to download the app he already had.  Did you have to do anything special to get it running? Or to let the app see the GC3?

I know the chance is slim without a bot, to try or not to try?

The fine print on the Bushnell email is interesting in regards to bots:

Limit 1 order per customer. Limit 1 unit per order. Available to U.S. located customers and shipping address only. No P.O. boxes. No rainchecks. Bushnell Golf & Vista Outdoor reserve the right to cancel any order at any time. We will cancel any order in which we suspect bot software has been used to automatically checkout or allow a customer an unfair advantage in checkout speed. We may cancel an order before we have accepted it and we may rescind our acceptance and cancel any order, or any portion thereof at our discretion, even after your receipt of an order confirmation or after your credit card has been charged. Any orders cancelled by our staff will be refunded if your card was authorized or charged.

It would not see it in the app.  I setup a manual connection in the "wifi" setup.

The name of the GC3 hotspot is:

GC3-XXXXXXX

XXXXXXX is your serial #.  So I think the naming convention is if it's unit #500, the wifi hotspot name it would be:

GC3-1000500

And the password is:

FSSPORTS

Once I log into the wifi hotspot, I used the emailed code to activate FSX Pro.

**  As I mentioned, when I did this, the key is tied to the iPad, and I couldn't activate FSX 2020 on my PC until I deactivated the key from FSX Live (log in via a web browser) from my iPad.

Interesting indeed, however whether this rule would be carried out is up for debate. Hopefully we won’t crash their website in the next 30 minutes haha

He ended up getting a reply a few minutes ago it sounds like.  Even though the app store lists his ipad as compatible, the rep told him that it's likely a RAM issue.  The app requires 4GB and his iPad has 2GB.  Sounds like the app has been crashing for him.  Apparently they are working on a fix.  He somehow had two apps and one would actually run.  I told him to try the direct wifi connection last night.  But, not sure that his issue is that at this point.
