but a net is only $150-200. what's the fuss about if you're spending $7k on this, what's stoppping one from getting a net if not already have it?

Not quite correct.  Just call them.  It's actually a much better deal that way anyway.  The bundle is $8500 which is taxed as $8500.  I just ordered a plain GC3 and it's only taxed as $4000 (just the hardware).  I was told lead times in Oct were 6 weeks or so but are down to 4 weeks now.

I'm not sure which model they're including but the Net Return nets range from $700-2500. No idea what mat is included either but also a wide range of prices on mats. Then the package includes a year of Gold subscription and the $1500 course package from FS.

Good to know. Sales tax on software among different states and software categories is a mess. I wonder if the difference in sales tax between the plain GC3 and bundle is just a mistake on their part,  if it's running into some bizarre tax law, or if they're just going for maximum profit on the bundles.

Are you in us? And did you order just the GC3 or a sim package?

 

Edit: Contacted sales support and apparently mine shipped the 4th.  Supposed to be here tomorrow.  I did not get a notification from UPS my choice yet...which I usually do if I have any deliveries upcoming. 
 

still no activation code yet.

Yes, US.  I ordered mine through my sales rep and it wasn't a sim in a box nor the extra courses either.  I was quoted 6-8 weeks and mine will be here in a total of 3.5 week from order date. Thrilled.

Does anyone use a GC3 with a true strike center hitting mat? Is there a way to put the device so you can hit drivers and irons off the gel strip or is the mat not wide enough for that ?

Anyone intimately familiar with how GC3 software transfer works?  I have a GC3 but I am seriously considering selling and moving up to a quad instead.  No idea the trouble transfer of software might be and I have had a hard time getting a hold of anyone at FS.

There was a guy on here a few pages back or the Facebook group from a few days ago (I forget exactly) who was looking to go from quad (without club data upgrade paid) to GC3. I’d hunt that down and see if you can work out a trade. Transfer of ownership on GC3 is $500 or you could just change the email address and password and give them your account. Some people used burner email accounts for this reason.

FWIW, my sales rep said that I could keep the software if I decided to upgrade to GCQuad. I assume at that point, I'd just have to pay for the extra club data. The invoice on my purchase also shows the separation of the hardware and software.

I'm asumming you are referring to the FSX2020 software? If so the software is not tied to the device, It is installed on your PC or laptop. If you upgrade launch monitors you'll simply be connecting a new LM to your current setup..

 

Example: Say i own a GC2 with FSX software installed on my PC.. I sell it & upgrade to the new GC3... I don't have to do anything other than connect the new GC3... My FSX software will just be receiving data from a different device..

Correct.. Sell the GC3 without software (buyer will purchase their own software or use their existing) & buy your new Device without software as you already own.

I just ordered the TrueStrike Academy and couldn't you just put the GC3 on the next turf section?

problem was with using the tee and the middle of the gel mat.  Problem is solved with using a rubber tee on the gel part I believe

Was told by my rep that course licenses are lifetime purchases and when they upgrade software the courses transfer
