Wish mine had nvidia. I have a Radeon card as a secondary. Doesn’t like it when I disable integrated graphics in the control panel/device manager. Maybe if I connect to my tv it will force the amd card to work. We’ll see. Requested a call anyway from bushnell

Oh, AMD cards won't work with FSX2020 as Foresight uses CUDA heavily which is not supported on AMD GPUs.

Jealousy does not begin to describe. Being in Aus this would cost us at least double 😞

Apologies as I am sure this has been thoroughly discussed but I would prefer not to dig back through all the pages. Have we come to a consensus on the best bang for your buck gaming laptop to run FSX 2020? I would like to find something on the more affordable end that will still run everything well.

Thanks!

Thanks!  I might do that since I spent so much on setting up the garage sim already.  Have to plan the family vacation first.

I know what you mean. I'm trying to decide between fully unlocking it now or replacing my garage door openers with high lift wall mounted versions and placing a 16' retractable screen underneath them, going to do both eventually but can't do both this year while staying within the amount we budgeted.

This is about as good as I've seen unless you plan to run 4K, in which case you'd need a beefier GPU.

I actually bought that one and returned it for the 11th gen chip from Costco.  It has double the ram as well.

I'm surprised there would be much difference in performance between the two. The differences between a single CPU generational are minimal and performance of these programs is mostly governed by the GPU, especially when physics calculations are done via CUDA libraries rather than being done on the CPU.

Got my BLP today and on initially trying to set it up it just won't connect to the internet through any method. I tried three different wifi networks, ethernet (it detected the connection and had an IP address but couldn't seem to do anything with it), USB-C, and even wifi through my phone but no success. Anyone else experience anything like this?

In the beginning when I was setting up my GC3, I had the exact same issues with seeing the GC3 consistently on the FSX 2020 on my PC.  It was not until I spoke to their support and discovered that because I registered my software key on the iPad Mini with FSX Pro first, the key was tied to the iPad mini, and would not properly register with my PC.

Once I log into FSX Live and clicked on "Deactivate" under the Licenses for iPad Mini, I was able to properly register the key on my PC and the connection issues went away.

I am able to connect through:

1)  PC on ethernet, GC3 on ethernet

2)  PC on ethernet, GC3 on same network via WiFi

3)  PC on WiFi, G3 on WiFi

4)  PC connected to GC3 via USB-C cable

5)  PC connected to GC3's Wireless hotspot

Hopefully your problem goes away once you are able to register your FSX 2020 (PC software) with the software key.  If not, definitely give them a call, I find their product support department very helpful in resolving these issues.

Are you still able to connect on the iPad as well? I was hoping to use PC sometimes and iPad other times, but it sounds like having your license registered on each is not possible?

This is good advice, although I don't think it's quite the same situation. I can't even get as far as connecting the LP to the internet in order to just register the device. I'm nowhere close to trying FSX2020 yet.

Ugh, I am sorry to hear.  I remember my first evening as well, getting super frustrated with it not working as it should.  And it's "definitely them and not me" lol, as I used to work in tech support (interning several decades ago) and have been troubleshooting PC/software related issues for 20+ years.

Hopefully a call into their support department would resolve your issues.

Yes, I can still connect through my iPad.  Although, I have to say that app is not the most intuitive or well-designed.  The numbers are quite small.  I haven't tried using my wife's iPad Air 4.

For those of you that are concerned about "deactivating" your software, don't worry as you can deactivate it multiple times and "reactivate" it multiple times.  I believe the only limitation is that you can only have 1 device "authenticated".

Anyone else have issues launching FSX 2020? I just bought this computer https://www.bestbuy.com/site/gigabyte-15-6-fhd-ips-144hz-gaming-laptop-i5-11400h-16gb-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3050-512-gb-ssd/6470648.p?skuId=6470648

I have the software downloaded but when I click the desktop icon, the software launches to the FSX 2020 screen. Screen stays on for 2-3 seconds and then closes. Any thoughts? Uninstalled multiple times but nothing.

Have an e-mail out to Bushnell tech support as well.

I successfully registered my device and created an account but my launch pro won’t update and I have it connected to my internet and pinging. I can already tell this is gonna be some frustrating troubleshooting.

What do you mean won’t update? You using it with a pc? Stand-alone?

It’s something in your graphic card settings… plugged into the right port, trying to do 16:10?, resolution one that’s not compatible? Try changing settings to 1080p at 16x9. Also look to see if you are using the graphics card vs integrated graphics
