Anyone have an ei profile for this shaft compared to Ventus black in 80g classes? @Valtiel? Ordered a 300 Mini with a V2 8F5, since it was free. I used to love the original V2s, but in modern times I’m playing a Ventus in everything. If I like the 300 enough I’ll put in one of the Ventus shafts I have at home.

I used to think that technology and materials used made a big difference in driver shafts until I started hitting my Titleist 905r at the range when I cracked the face of my Ping G30 ls tec a couple of years ago, now, not so much!

I know head design has influence no doubt, I can loft my Ping G410 lst down to 7.5 and it spins way less than my Titleist 905r, but if a shaft profile fits, than why change ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I tore my rotator cuff months back, but more recently I have been hitting the range a bit. I’m pretty close to where I left off and don’t have much pain unless I get my hands high on the back swing, but I did  I hit my Ping G410 lst with an aftermarket Aldila Xtorsion Copper 60TX shaft the other day, and I hit my Titleist 905r with an off the rack V2 75x shaft that I bought in 2006 side by side. My ball speed numbers on average were the same.

i wasn’t on a GC Quad, but a TopTracer range hitting range balls, but I  find the ball speed at the Top Tracer range is pretty typical for what I see on a GC Quad within a mph or two, but that is about the only thing I would trust there. The launch reads low and so does carry (unless I hit a high spinning block, then the carry reads longer. In the real world or even on a GC Quad, that’s not the case. I’m usually 25 yards shorter with an open face push, not longer by 25 yards 🤦‍♂️

For the money, I think I’ll pick up one in black……… what a deal. I figure I’ve got Two Ping G410 wood loft sleeve adapters laying around so why not 👍

So I have a shaft that came out in 🤔 on a driver that came out 15 years ago, keeping up ball speed wise with a Shaft that came out 2-3 years ago and a Driver that’s a year old 🤯

I have 2 pics below.
The one labeled Driver is my G410 lst.

The one labeled 2 wood is my 905r

The OG Proforce V2, Fuji 757, and the Aldila NV are still viable shafts today. The V2 is going to feel and perform more like  non-Velocore Ventus Black.

I am an S/X tweener and play the X flex in my hybrid. It launches nice and high while also feeling very stable. It takes a bad swing to make the ball curve much either way. I would actually expect this shaft to not be stout enough for higher speed players, say 115+ driver swing speed. Otherwise it’s a really good solid shaft.

The old ProForce V2/V5 shafts aren't actually too dissimilar to the type of design the Ventus Black utilizes, which explains why they were/are so popular on tour. I think the big difference is the material tech and how that contributes to feel. The ProForce shafts were definitely known for their boardiness.

Interesting side note, if you take the bend profile characteristics of the V2/V5 and crank them up to 11, you basically get the HZRDUS Hulk.
