7 Wood Shaft?

Just looking to get some input from the community. I recently found that my 7 wood spin rates in my Ping G410 are pretty high which is leading to 10-20 yards getting killed because of it. So what does the community thing good options would be. Currently have a Aldila Silver 125MSI 80TX in it and I'll admit that the club overall feels light. Any suggestions or discussions would be appreciated.

I have a G425 7w in standard loft setting with a Ventus Blue 7x and it's great. Does not balloon -- flight and distance are more like a 5w, which has actually become a bit of a problem with my gapping. I'm experimenting with some Mizuno woods now, but regardless, I love the results of the pairing of the Ping 7w with the Ventus Blue.

Honestly don’t think you’ll find it with a shaft. Maybe try lowering the loft.

It's setting is 1* down (from 20.5 to 19.5) and 1* flat. I'm looking for something a little heavier. I have a Fujikura Atmos Black 8TX but it's glued into a Callaway Rogue. The reason I don't have the Rogue in the bag is that the club has a tendency to go left and I can't hit much of a cut with it. I was thinking something in the 90 gram area but everything I find is Hybrid shafts at that weight.

You are on the right path....weight is the key

 

I spent more time hitting high lofted fw & hybrids - getting the right weight made everything else fall in line

 

Another light bulb - was learning that low launch, slight draw swing that produces these beautiful 7 wood shots

Depends on your strike pattern on the 7 wood. If you're low on the face and that's why you're spin is too high, you may need a softer shaft to bring your strike point up and that will lower spin

Two options I'm seeing that are out there are a Fujikura Ventus 9X Red? And a Tensei Orange 90? Anyone have any experience with these?

I have the Ventus Blue 7x in my fairways and like it a lot. I just bought a 7wood on the BST and it came with a Tensei White AV Raw 85 Tx. I decided to try it first before automatically reshafting and I really love this shaft--goes dead straight on a very elevated but piercing trajectory.
