How would you build / customize these irons?

So I bought a set of Kyoei iron heads.  They were previously black and the previous owner stripped the black and made them a raw finish.  The pics attached are what they look like right now.

I don’t mind the finish at all. But not crazy about the look with a chrome shaft.

so I’m thinking of 2 different things and curious what you guys think. Looking for some input.

option 1. Keep heads the look they are now with a black shaft.  I think this would complete the look and look nicer. I use Oban shafts and they don’t come in black. But I found a website online that makes “shaft wraps”. I can get a solid matte black wrap that I wrap my shaft similar to how you wrap your car instead of painting it. So it’ll still be the same Oban shaft. But black in appearance.

option 2.  There’s a local guy who refinishes clubs and he said he can refinish them all to this satin silver look like the Nikes photo attached.  This would also touch up any fine scratches or dings that may be in the heads. However they are in great shape as is. But now with the silver heads. They would still be a raw finish. But silver not copper look. And with silver I think they look better with a chrome shaft.

either option I’ll probably keep the Tiffany color ferrules. But if I go with silver I may paint fill the head to match the ferrules.

im torn. I like the silver with the blue color combination. But I like the look of the copper and black shaft also.

I vote to keep them as is, raw iron heads are sexy. I've thought about sending in my MP54's to get stripped.

both options the heads would remain raw. It’s just that one would have more the silver look.  However the look they are now may camouflage the “rust” more down the road than the raw silver look will

Based on the pictures, it doesn't look like the previous owner did any stripping of them. They're a dyed finish, and look pretty darn similar to my KK MBs. If you were dead set on choosing one or the other option, I'd go with black shafts. I'm not entirely sure they would look good going with the satin silver color due to the way they're made.

Not the best pictures, but they’re what I have on my Phone. Rust really isn’t an issue unless you get them wet and just let them sit in the moisture for days but even then, they clean right up

From what I have read, the shaft wraps actually add a fair amount of weight, so be prepared to possibly have to make some adjustments due to that. I think they would look just fine with the chrome shafts, but to each their own.  Just don't use any hideous ferrules like whoever built those Nike clubs.  YUCK!

I would go basic & simple on ferrules, primary colors. Black with maybe red is as crazy I would go. The heads have an industrial feel, bright colors don't go with it. Good luck on them, they look awesome.

I agree.  They definitely have a less refined look to them, which is different and cool.  I would keep it simple as well.

Not a raw fan myself. I'd send them to Flanigan and get his black N-Eleven or brushed chrome finish.

No point in refinishing to raw, as they'll end up looking worse than they do now when they start rusting.

Consider option 3: keep them as-is.

The blue and silver trim in the ferrules provides a smooht transition from silver shafts to rough-copper heads.

I honestly think the entire look has major custom-fit aura about, and that opponents might find your arsenal a bit intimidating!

Thanks for all the input. I’ve decided to leave the heads as is. I may play around with the paint fill some. But not going to refinish the heads.

having the BBF ferrules and my Oban shafts with Japan No1 grips installed as we speak. Hope to have everything back in a few days and then I’ll decide on the shaft wrap (they haven’t been delivered yet).  But here are the ferrules I went with. The only ones I had on hand that weren’t too colorful and clashed with the head color.
