Please save me from my wife

Hopefully the marriage thing is a joke. If not, you have bigger problems.  I mean, it's drywall, regardless of garage or living room, who cares?

 

Sorry to hijack this, but funny drywall story. The outlet in my wife's bathroom goes out. It's a GFI, but it didn't trip. So I'm trying to figure out where this thing is wired. Idiots who built the house (PULTE I'm looking at you!!), decided to wire it to ANOTHER GFI on the floor below, which DID trip.... I punched 3 holes into the wall trying to figure out how this thing was wired. I was REALLY POed at the stupidity of the wiring!

 

I fixed the holes the next day, and my wife says "I seriously thought those holes would be there for 2 years". lol

As a side note, I've learned a NUMBER of outlets are routed to that other GFI, so any time anything goes out it's the first thing to check.

I spent part of my childhood on a poor farm and learned early there's NO money to fix things, it's do it yourself.  But over the years I came to realize I have better things to do than be Mr fix it.  Get yourself a handyman to do what he does best, while you go practice, so it doesn't happen again.  😛

This was my early marriage years when we had a handful of young rowdy kids. I was forced to learn how to repair things because I couldn’t afford to hire someone. My boys broke  windows several times a year so I learned how to glaze using putty. Replace a toilet that had a hole knocked in it, multiple drywall patches, match tile and carpet, etc. 

 

Now they’re all married doing their own repairs and when something needs fixing here I just hire someone. 
 

When I read about someone not being able to do simple repairs, or change a flat tire I wonder how they’d manage something major.

I was hitting pitch shots over the house from the front yard to the back. My young daughter and nephew would run around the house and retrieve the ball and bring it back. My daughter complained that my nephew would always beat her to the ball, so I decided to help her out. I noticed that he would start running before I even started my downswing. That really a 2 minute fix with some sparkle or drywall compound.  Or just use a piece white tape.  Thant wall has plenty of dings on it already.

43 years tomorrow and have never been afraid of her, I find it amazing anyone would marry a person they are afraid of. But I guess there is the crazy scale to consider for some, we are both average crazy so no worries from either side.

My wife of 30 yrs wouldn't say a word about it if it were in the garage of basement, for those are my domains. If it were on the main floor of the house, she would patiently wait for me to fix it, and would ask me about it in a couple of months. That is why she has been my wife for so long. Never met a more mellow, laid back woman in my life, and I did plenty of test driving before we got married when I was 31 (she was 25).

 

    A little drywall mud and some paint and you are good to go.
