Karen thinks Nelly doesn't need to attack the pins today because she has a 5 shot lead.

 

Chronic thinks Nelly is a bit off her A game today(so far) and the announcers dare not say such a thing.

 

Never really seen someone put the brakes on with 36 holes to go and only a 5 shot lead. Final round and a 5 shot lead, yeah sure play smart, attack when the situation is perfect.

Announcers always like to state the obvious or put their own spin on what's happening.  But, that's another thread.

Yes, I always feel like I am struggling when only 2 under through 5.

I know the announcers are fawning over it but Aditi sure does roll the ball beautifully on the greens.

Well everytime i tune in to watch LPGA it seems like she is winning or draining something. Yesterday was a perfectly good example.  How can you be #1 in the world, have 3 wins so far this year plus a major, and not be a great putter?

It's planned for tomorrow.  But, if it can't be finished they will revert back to the 54 hole scores for medals.

I don't know that Anika Sorenstam was a great putter...she was certainly good enough though.

Can't imagine grinding out a comeback into medal position tomarrow, through 15 holes or so....and then having the storm settle in.  "We're sorry, we will now have to revert back to your 54 hole score"

It's too bad someone in charge can't make a command decision.  Either it's over at 54 or we will play 72 no matter what even it doesn't happen tomorrow.

 

Wishy washy people in charge shouldn't be in charge if they can't make a decision.

There's been lots of players that have reached the #1 ranking who were good ball strikers and good putters, but not great putters

Nelly struggled a bit out there, but so did most players. I could see after 4 holes she didn't have her A game today, but she had enough to hold on. Daniela Darquea with the low round of 65. Lydia creeping up.

 

Feel bad for the two Danes, Emily K and Nanna. They looked so frustrated out there.

It absolutely is. Outside of finishing 3rd in the LPGA team event her best finish this season on the LPGA is T23. Next best finish is T39. M/C at Evian.

She was 3 under after 7 holes with birdies on 5 & 6. The 3 putt on 8 for bogey took the wind out her sails for the round. And to be fair not many players have their A game (completely overused phrase FWIW) after shooting 62 after having a chance for 59 yesterday.

I think she's been preparing mentally for these Olympics for a while, after what she experienced in 2016.  It's all come together for her.  Darkhorse
