Are Danielle, Lexi (Scotty), Inbee and Minjee (Cleveland) using new putters?

 

For a great putter....Inbee changes putters fairly often.

 

I didn't watch much of the Entitled Canadian Princess (ECP).....is Brooke also using a new putter?

Yes, but she did say about Bianca that she can't be more than 5'9" ... and Ali is a tall person so her ability to judge heights less than hers is not the best.  At least Ali knows how to talk in hushed tones and not turn the volume up ... a skill that Morgan still needs to develop.

Yes, I agree, lunch in Japan is very nice during golf, but challenging as I have seafood allergies and as you well know, seafood accounts for the majority of the Japanese diet!

 

No Tipping is everywhere in Japan, not just at the Golf Courses. 

 

Actually, if one counts Scotland, Wales and England together (as the U.K.) then they have 2,660 courses, Canada has 2,416 courses and Japan has 2,383 courses.

It's the 2nd hole on the Links course at Swaneset a few years ago...some member posted the pic on WRX....but we and other courses have bare patches like this...maybe not quite as big....they haven't been healing cause we haven't had much rain and these bare patches aren't near sprinklers.

 

It's is what it is during a 'drought'.

Hit 2 shockers in R1, missed 3 footers that were terrible strokes, the first one even a 25 'cap club member would be embarrassed by.

Sorry about the seafood allergies. I"m not sure what the heck the IGF does. Apparently they do "Blah, blah, blah" and have meetings around the world on someone else's money. It's an Olympics thing...

 

Anyway, Japanese sources and Golf Digest list Japan with 2,450 courses. (https://www.golfdigest.com/story/best-golf-courses-in-206-countries) And the UK has more, but can only be played during summer, which was on Thursday this year. 🙂

Having played my share of hot rounds in Phoenix over the years what I believe will be a big challenge going forward is the fatigue aspect of the event.  This is where the better trained golfers will shine as their ability to focus on the shot at hand and manage the strategy demands of the round will be tested.  I don't know if many wrxers have had heat stroke but the early signs are what I like to call a fuzz head.  You can't focus on the task at hand like you are used to doing.  Some will get a case of indifference to the shot at hand others lose precise muscle control.  So you are over an 8 foot putt and you can't focus correctly and even become indifferent to the shot then lose your putting stroke.  This will be one of the many issues remaining for the field if this "sauna" continues on the course.

The podium 3 some in this event will certainly have earned it.

Got a laugh watching the camera work on Ariya's opening tee shot. The camera operator instinctively moves the camera expecting a high launch, but of course Ariya hits a low stinger with her driving iron, and the ball momentarily disappears off the bottom of the screen.

Don't know if this has been said, but I wish this was another format. Seems like a 2 person best ball would add more excitement. It seems like it just drags, and its hard to pull for players vs countries. This just seems like another event with only 3 "winners". Enjoying the actual golf and scenery, just want to see more action, like the Ryder Cup.

International Golf Federation's role is more than just the Olympics, they are the intern ational body that conducts research and advocacy for golf.  They will produce marketing research on behalf of some federations, etc. 

So, yes, I think that unless the Japanese Golf Federation which markets and promotes the growth of golf in Japan and Asia Pacific, has a different number than the IGF, their numbers would be more accurate than Golf Digest.  After all, this is the body that would administer the Handicap system in Japan and golf courses would be members of this organization.

Maybe reduce the two events to three days each, and add a 3rd tournament. Mixed team best ball?
