Cobra 2022 Plans

Whatever the new driver is I hope it has a slightly deeper face. I still have the F9 driver which I will keep for the time being but the Speed Zone & Rad Speed just didn't work as well as the F9 for me.  I did like the Peacoat / red colorway of the Rad Speed though.

Driver: Callaway Rogue STMaxLS 10.5 Degree

5 Wood: Cobra LTDxLS @ 17.5 Degree

Hybrid: Cobra King OS 3-4 Hybrid @ 20.5 Degree

Irons: Taylormade 2021 P790's 5-AW

Wedge: Taylormade MG3 54 Degree

Wedge: Callaway Sureout 2 @ 60 degree

Putter: PXG Closer

I'll be giving the low spin driver head a go.  Will be tough to improve on my tsi4 launch conditions though.

I hear you man.  The Tsi4 is an absolute low spinning beast for me as well. Looking forward to hearing more about this new low spinning monster from Cibra though.

I would agree with this. My favorite Cobra head was the fly z+. I thought that was the perfect face height. My Radspeed is really good but I do wish the face was slightly deeper

Might not be the right spot for this, but does anyone know why the lie angles on Cobra One Length irons are more upright in the "Long" irons than they are in the wedges?  It's completely backwards from traditional clubs?  Doesn't make sense to me.

Driver: Callaway Mavrik

4 Wood: PXG Gen 5

7 Wood: PXG Gen 5

Irons: Cleveland ZipCore XL (5-AW)
Wedges: Cleveland CBX 4 ZipCore  (54, 58)

Traditionally longer clubs are flatter because of club length. With OL, the lie angles would in theory all be the same. That how the F7s were. I believe Edel single length are all the same lie angle. But cobra modified the lies starting with the F8 because they claim people naturally swing the long irons faster than the short irons. Probably some hit to target impulse that makes you swing harder when the flag is further away. Regardless there is more shaft droop with more speed. Their shafts are also different for each head, so probably softer and more launch producing in the long irons, so again more shaft movement. The thought is that although the static lie angles are different, the dynamic lie angles are the same.

Also interested. Moreso for the Radspeed to drop in price.

I’ve been thinking about picking up a Radspeed XB again. I found that driver to be at the top for 2021. I had one but sold it. Just another Golf regret…

I'm leaning towards the XB as well. Sacrifice a little distance for consistency and forgiveness. Set it and forget it and stop tinkering.

You found it shorter? I thought it was right there with everything else. The one I had was a 10.5* XB with a Ventus red 6S. It felt great, sounded great and flew in the right flight window. Traded for a Sim 2 Max. I sprayed that thing like I was drunk!

Bryson testing prototype irons?! He's stuck with what he's had in his bag for quite a while now, should be interesting to see what Cobra's got for him.

This premiers in 3 hours.

They didn’t show the new irons but BD stated they are going right in the bag once lofts are adjusted.  He seemed to like the new driver too…

Lol yeah I'll admit I got caught by the clickbait. Makes sense they're not going to let us see them yet.

Two things caught my eye.

1/ Bryson uses driving irons in his one length 4 and 5 irons. Even at his speed, this is needed to launch the ball at comparable heights to regular lengthed 4 and 5 irons.

So what does this mean for the regular folk using one length sets and the long irons are NOT of the driving iron style? Me thinks shorter and lower bullets.

2/ Bryson's thoughts on end of range when he putts is worthy of trial. Does he do the same for regular shots?

I wonder what irons Bryson was referring to in his recent WITB YouTube video.

i heard they will do 3D printing for one iron line. Sounded like 3 or 4 different varieties in both lengths. Bryson seemed on board with what he was trying out. Curious what Ricky is planning to play. He's still not using his signature irons 😛
