Most eyes will be focused on the Olympics this week, but this will be a good chance for the players trying to retain their cards to pick up some valuable points.

TV coverage is great. Heck, it's better than the Evian.

The weather doesn't look particularly promising. Rain is in the forecast for three days, and the winds should be up. Perfect links golf weather.

It should be a competitive tournament. 6ix, Atthaya, Yealimi, and In Gee played great this past week.

When was the last time a LPGA Tour event doesn't feature a single Rolex Top-10 player in the field?  The winner this week will get less than 20.00 Rolex Ranking points, i.e., less than solo sixth finish last week.

Hmph, as I bring up the rear on the contest we have.... Winning an Olympic gold should be equivalent to 100000000 points ! Lol

@Supermilo

Even though the winner will receive less than one fifth of Rolex Ranking this week compared to last week, there is a silver lining.

The winner will receive 500 Race to CME Globe Ranking points, about the same as last week's 650 points.

This is the tournament Bianca Pagdanganan should've played and win.

Huh, forgot that this was an event.  TV coverage looks great, should be a fun watch.  Not having looked at the entry list I would expect lots of Korean players, since only 4 are in Tokyo and ISPS Handa sponsors a decent number, plus it's a logical back-to-back off the Evian.

The problem is that there's a week off between this tournament and the Scottish Open, with the AIG the week after. If a player is in the field this week, do they head home for a few days before heading back to the UK, or do they sit around in quarantine for the extra week? I can see why players would skip this one, and head home for 10 days before playing back to back weeks in Scotland.

???

They alternate groups teeing off. A group of men will hit, and then a group of women will be the next group out.

The purse for the men is the same as the women. It's basically two tournaments played at the same time. They did the same thing in Australia a few years ago.

They had a similar co-ed event in Oz in early 2019.

Seems like GIMMEE and Bronte Law like these co-ed events and might have some fun this week.

Alison would definitely be one of my gal pals to party with at university.

She's hilarious....too bad she's never had/has the LPGA career that many touted for her when she was a successful Am.

IMO....it would be easy for Alison to find a Sugar Daddy...just sayin.

I know you do the same as me.

Stay in N. Ireland or/and the UK....do some sightseeing, relax and maybe play some links golf...gotta believe it would be free golf as I might imagine they would be given a professional courtesy as a pro for complimentary golf.

Why fly home and back unless one lived in Europe.

You know who have clear heads, Charley Hull and Georgia Hall.  They realized Olympics meant nothing to them and this week is their best chance to steal tons of Race to CME Globe ranking points.  They've gladly relegated Olympics glory to Jodi Ewart Shadoff, who incidentally is outside of Top-100 CME ranking.

Will the Philippines care when Bianca struggles in late November and December and fails to pass the Q-School?  Will they care if Bianca struggles at the Symetra Tour in 2022 and eventually drops out of women's professional golf?

I don't know whether they care, but I know one thing for sure.  They can't do anything for her!

How does Gulbis keep getting into tournaments?

IMO....there are too many LPGA events and some have such weak fields that Gulbis is getting in at #230 priority list.

Sydnee Michaels at #388.

Does anyone know if Gulbis is divorced nowadays and maybe too bored to stay at home or playing to get her mind off a divorce.

I've always liked Gulbis...so I'd fanboy her and watch her play for a few holes at an event...same with Sydnee.

I also think there are too many PGA events.

I get too bored watching any live TV sports.

I'd rather record it and watch it in FF in a hour.

Charley would rather party with her MATES...than be locked away in a foreign country having to wear a mask while watching Youtube videos alone  in her dorm room if she's not playing golf or eating.

Dude, you aren't right. You're so entrenched in these players, that you're upset because Bianca chose to play a possibly once in a lifetime event. Her life, her choice. I`m sure she knows very well what her immediate future may hold for her.

He's not entrenched with these players.🤣

"Of course, this's also a very talented rookie class.  Bianca will be a Top-5 player pretty soon; Yealimi Noh and Matilda Castren won't be far behind."
