What modern classic driver would you game?

All these have cult following status.  Which would you game in this modern world?

What about the Bridgestone J33R?  What about my personal favorite, the 905R?

if I had my choice I would go with this one. I could hit down on this driver a little bit and have a much more consistent swing. With the 460 drivers you now have to have a driver swing for swinging up on the back and an iron swing for striking down. I use a 460 but I do think it leads to inconsistencies with my swing. Driver sucks.

Yes, TiSi for sure is a "modern classic".

 

My list of the three most iconic drivers (big play on Tour and among amateurs)  of the past 35 years is as follows:

 

Callaway Biggest Big Bertha

Titleist 975D

Ping TiSi

 

I played none of those from the OP's list and don't recall seeing playing partners with those drivers, though I am sure they were each a big volume selling driver.

I was a big baller with a 10* Ping WRX TiSI with an AJ Tech Metal X stiff flex and an RUS hosel.  Murdered that club...how did I hit thr ball 280 plus with that and a WOUND Titleist Professional 90!!!!!???

Tisi or Adams 9015d for me. 
Tisi with flat hosel. I bombed that thing and could tee it low and hit knockdown drives into the wind. Great club. Callaway and Cleveland shouldn’t be on this list. 
Tisi and J33 should be, then we have a vote. All Titleist D, J, S should be lumped together.

I'd put a modern 975D into my bag so fast if they made one.

I played the Cleveland Launcher 9.5* with a Graffaloy Blue X-stiff shaft and ended up replacing it with a Titleist 905r 9.5 with a Proforce V2 75x which is my back up driver to this day. 
 

i feel like it was a lateral move honestly looking back.  15-20 years ago I’d get a new driver every year thinking that technology was newer which equaled better, then I had the 905r until the Ping G30 ls tec came out. 
 

I hit the 905r today at the range. The ball speed is only 1mph less than my Ping G410 lst that is set at 7.5*, but the  ball speed drops off more if you miss it a little, plus the spin rate is way higher (yeah, it’s 2* higher lofted I know) if there was a way to retrofit the head for loft changes. I’d probably still bag it.  
 

Im suprised the 975 is on there instead of the 905

 

i search the used clubs sections every now and again at some local places for clubs, the Launcher 400 is always on my radar, as is the King Cobra SZ 460, old Ping putters and old blades.

Easy question for me, still have two r510tp drivers that see occasional rounds, one with an IverX, and one with a BLeex.

I have two Taylormade R510DF Protos in my 'Retro' Bags. The Driver that propelled the low spin category!

 

An 8.5°, brand new, with Fubuki Tour 63X at 46". 

 

And a 9.5°, mint, with Fubuki Tour 63X at 46". 

 

Pure class from Taylormade on these!

Cleveland 400 next

975 was great,yes but Tp miles ahead and im a Titleist Fan.  Ft Iz would be the Old Cally i loved. What was next you ask...well GDI made the YS6...those were smooth and superb..

Voted for the R510TP. So many other great drivers that should have been part of the poll.

 

However the true tour issue TM R580XD TP driver was and still is a 440cc beast. Same for the TM 300 "Holy Grail" 9* driver is another I've gamed over previous seasons. Even though now they are museum pieces. Great drivers that were HTF for left handed players.

I played the 975 and 510. And was playing good golf at the time. Those head shapes were somewhat unique at the time and still are. I can clearly picture them both although I haven’t seen them in years.
