You guys who mix headcovers and irons or wedges in the same slots make me uncomfortable.

Given my driver and putter are the two most used clubs, they need to be the easiest to access. They need room to breathe!

Ideally, I'd not even that the 3w in there with them, but the top divider is one of the "big ones" and I'm OK with having the 3w in there with them. But any more in that top compartment defeats the purpose of easy access to the main two clubs.

I’m with you 100%. Especially if you carry. For many, the putter grip is larger and therefore 3 in the top slot is plenty. And it’s easier to put the putter back in the top slot if you first pick up the bag with the putter in the other hand while exiting the green complex.

The kind of heathen that doesn't want his $300 driver shaft banged up from a iron or putter head. Uh huh.

Understood, but is also dependent on if you keep a headcover on your putter and what sort of cover is on your driver. The newer style driver headcovers don't do as well protecting the shafts.

Also, this is dependent on if you carry/push vs. ride. Carrying or pushing doesn't let clubs freely swivel around as much as they do on a riding cart. Since I carry or push, my relatively unprotected driver shaft only gets touched by the putter headcover, and every other club hangs safely below.

Good points and all valid. My putter is always covered and in the bottom row, easy to find and put away. My driver has  "sock" type cover to protect the shaft and is always on until it's go time.

You guys are all OCD riddled maniacs.

Not wrong.

I have driver, 3w, and putter up top. Irons in the middle two slots with the short irons in the slot closest to me when I put it down (left or right depending on your POV), and wedges (4) in the bottom.

What kind of heathen puts their putter with the wedges. I go dr,4w,hy,putter up top. Irons in the middle two and wedges on the bottom

It's a product of riding for me.  Makes the putter super accessible, grab it out of the bag, slap the magnetic headcover on a wedge and head to the green.  Reverse order after homing out and it's on to the next hole.

Left to right, top to bottom. It's what is taught at caddie training. Woods on top, then long and middle irons, then short irons/wedges. Putter up by the woods.

Agree!  It irks me a little to see when the woods are on the bottom...
