New T100S and T200

If you were going to combo these to be 5-7 in the t200 and 8-GW in the t100S would you go 1 degree strong in the t100S to match what the t200s would be or just leave as is?

I'd probably want to hit them and see how the gapping works before bending the t100s a degree stronger.  I'd order them standard and then get them bent after the fact if needed.  Good luck, great looking irons.

the gaps are set up perfectly to blend....no reason to bend anything and mess up the sole or offset that was engineered to play a specific way.  Especially the "S" model.....it blends perfectly with the T200's

I just noticed that the lofts are 1 degree weaker in the T100S 8-GW than the T200 8-GW so if you keep everything the same you get a 5 degree gap between 7 and 8 and then 4 degree gaps after that.

It’s probably more intended to go 5/6 in the T200s and then 7-G in the T100S and then you avoid the 5 degree gap

Sure just seemed like avoiding an inconsistent loft gap was better than creating one.

If you looks at the specs the t200/t100s the 4/5/6 match up perfectly. I assume titleist did this so the split set would make sense.

I thought about going 7i t200 as well but after looking at specs I went t200 4-6, t100s 7-G. I however am already having second thoughts about the split set. I am considering adding a 5 and 6 t100s to my order. I guess only time will tell how this experiment will go.

I like the lofts of the T100's, which would be 1 degree stronger than my current 712CB's.  I was thinking maybe go with T200's 4-6 and bend them 2 degrees weaker to match up with the T100's.  Would bending the T200's 2 degrees weaker cause any major changes to the way they were designed?

Yes, IMO.  It will visually reduce the offset and add bounce on a wider sole. It depends on your AoA, playing conditions, etc... though whether it works for you.  I find that stronger lofted GI irons are best kept 1* from stock and the distances/gapping when blending a set doesn't always need to be matched up to specific lofts.  Hence why you sometimes see people with 2 '4 irons' etc... in their bag.  I'd test them out on a LM and look at ball speed, 5 mph gaps is a good baseline.  You could consider a T100s in the 6 iron to help the transition between the t100 7 iron and t200 for 4-5 for instance.

I doubt you’d need to bend the T100s strong. Sometimes we get a bit too worked up on loft gaps.  Keep in mind that at some point in your iron set your distance gaps start tightening unless you’re at tour speeds. As another poster said hit them and then bend them.

Once or twice a year I go to my club pro and the TrackMan and just do gapping tests hitting each club in the bag and seeing what the flushed ones do as well as they typical miss to make sure my gaps make since.

Slight variation here.  I want to go T100s in 8-gap and T200 in 4-7, but I want to match lofts of my existing clubs (I currently play i200s gapped at 50, 45, 41, 37, 33, 29, 25).

To do this, I will need to bend the t200 7 iron 2 degrees strong.  Anyone done that?  Do you think it will significantly impact playing characteristics?  I'm most worried it will launch too high...

2* strong or 2* weak? I'm going to assume weak since the T200 7i is 31* and the i200 is 33*. It really shouldn't change much, they will launch like a 33* iron would. Fundamentally, you'll be losing a little bit of offset and 2* of bounce. Unless you play on extremely firm turf I doubt you'd notice any difference!

The T200 are amazing irons, best looking players distance iron at address, better looking top line than 225 or 223 from Mizuno, forgiving, high launch, no fliers, killer irons

I saw them in the store this week.  It’s a great looking iron.  What would they be comparable to?

I currently play Srixon Z585 and the T200’s looked smaller, more compact with thinner soles.

I guess the P790, but T200 looks way better at address

How did it go? My first thought was 4-5 T200 then T100S. My second thought was just the 4 in the T200. My third thought was just go with 4-P in the T100S. I'm ready to pull the trigger and I am wavering. Your thoughts are appreciated.
