Anybody ever have a perfect ball-striking round - 14 FIRs and 18 GIRs?

Anybody ever hit all 14 fairways and all 18 greens in a round?  I did it once a few years ago.  I remember the pressure mounting on the last couple of holes, as my buddies ignored the time-honored rule of not letting somebody know they are pitching a perfect game.  Then they started to place side bets on whether I could do it.  I had two of them actively rooting against me on the last hole, as they bet against me.  My other buddy and I took their money in the end, though.  Good times.

I did it once in a 9 hole round.  Ruined the round with 24 putts. I was 3 putting from 5 feet

I have several times using just my 2 iron.

 

I stopped doing this as it was a tad boring.

I had complete control over everything, I would take dead aim and the ball would land perfectly at that spot.  It was like the golfing gods were shining down on me, rooting me on.  Then I woke up, looked at my recent scorecard and realized I’m not very good, and got ready for the next round.

I think that's more impressive than a hole in one.  Everything has to go your way plus you have to absolutely be money from tee to green.  As for me, nope, I've never done it and probably won't.  Ball striking is the weakest part of my game by far.  I live and die by my driver and putter.

Wow. That’s insane. I have not. Although I’ve had rounds where I’ve putted in regulation 18 times, and that’s playing very “American style” golf where anything over 10 ft off the green is a chip, but I technically missed three greens. And all those fairways?!? Hot digity.

Best probably 13 or 14 fairways and 16 or 17 greens.

I've hit 14 FW a number of times. Got on a streak 4 years ago where I hit all 14 on my home course two days in a row. Most GIRs is 15.

Never have put them both together. In fact I can only think of one time I've ever had 18 greens in 40+ years.

Lessee... according to my stats app, my personal best was 12/13 fairways (par 70 course). That was on 6/29 of this year. Sadly, I was only 39% GIR. 

 

Personal best for GIR was 78% (14/18), and that was back in July of 2015. I was only 50% FIR that day. 

In other words, I can't seem to do both in one round.

Is that a typo? 42 putts over 9 holes would be 4.66 putts per green. 😆

My best is 16 GIR I believe. Not sure on fairways. While I'm good off the tee, meaning I don't hit many out of play, I do miss quite a few fairways by less than a couple of yards. I would guess my best would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-12 fairways hit, and that was a round where I hit my 2H off every tee .

I have hit all 18 greens in regulation but never every fairway in a round of golf.

Yea sorry, I shot 42, I had  24 putts

18 GIRS=has happened once at my home course. 
 

14 FIRS=LOL, can guarantee that is almost certainly a never ever. My best in the last two years is 10/14.

You should add no 3 putts , unless putting isn’t ball striking.

I did it once  September 15, 2009. I had just came back from a two day golf camp.  I hit ALL 12 fairways ALL 18 greens and made 6 birdie putts. Smooth and easy 66.  Luckily I had a witness because I did not believe it myself. 

At the time I was an 8 handicap.  Very next round was an even par 72.  Best two rounds in sequence in 53 years of golf.

Never, but I'd have more luck claiming a relationship with a much older Kate Jackson when I was 14 than anyone who plays with me believing I could hit 14  fairways.

In my first league when I was 19, I had a 65 on 9 holes with 47 putts.  I was on in regulation (or better) on all 18 holes.  On both par 5s, I was on in two.  I landed on every fairway.  47 putts.  47.

Closest I ever got was 12 fairways and 16 greens. But at a modern course with super wide fairways and giant greens it feels doable. Now, an old school course with small greens and more narrow fairways? That would be quite an accomplishment.

I hit 18 greens several times.  But I've never even sniffed 14 fairways.  Most I've ever hit is maybe 9 or 10 ... maybe.

I've hit 18 greens on my home course a couple times and once on the road (My best travelling round ever) but I dont think I could hit 14 fairways in 3 rounds LOL.

I've hit 14/14 fairways but it was at Pinehurst #1 and there was minimal rough if any. Mostly I'm around the 8-11 range but play most of my golf on a home course that is silly tight.

 

Closest I've gotten to all GIR is 16/18 GIR. One birdie, one bogey, even par. What a memorable/boring round of golf.

I did the other day.  Tightened a loose screw on my driver and switched from blades to G425 irons.  14/14 and 18/18 🤑
