Philadelphia Area Young Professional Memberships

Anyone have any info on young professional memberships in the Philly area?  My family has a membership at Radley Run in West Chester, but I'll be going closer to the Manayunk Conshy area working out of Fort Washington.  Graduated school in 2020 and play a lot of golf (~4 handicap).  Enjoy playing in events and would like a course that isn't too crowded and is walking friendly as I love to go walk a few holes after work.

Lol, yeah that’s pricey. Does anyone know anything about north hills, sandy run, green valley, manufacturers or Phila cricket?  I imagine the last two are the most expensive, but not sure how much that is. I don’t know much about the first three.

Cricket club  for your age is $24k entry & capital costs and 4 year waiting list (2 + 2). $308 monthly dues.

Let me formally announce Philly cricket is out of the running, lol. Hoping manufacturers isn’t that bad. Would love to hear anyone’s opinion on the course if they’ve played it or know about the membership.

Typically these type of threads go a lot smoother if instead of asking about specific courses you may or may not be able to afford, you tell everyone what you can afford and they can give you a list from there. 

 

Try something like... "I'm looking for a club in the blank area with an initiation fee of under $XXXX and monthly dues less that $XXX."

No, don’t know much about it. Certainly not ruling it out and want to learn more, just hoping to get to know more about others as well.

Manufacturers is beautiful. Have a buddy who’s a member there. Cedar brook fits what you’re looking for pretty well also.

I'd personally look at Manny's over anything else listed.

 

Cricket if you can step up $$ wise and are looking for something very long term... North Hills if you are looking for a basic entry level private club with walkability and don't know where you want to end up yet. 

 

As a 4 you would probably run bored with NH... hence I would look at Manny's which is a great track, has good players/men's group and is reasonable compared to cricket.

 

Would throw Whitemarsh into the mix too...

Good point, thanks for the feedback.

 

I think initiation of around $5k would be great, maybe $8k max.  For yearly hopefully nothing more than $3-4k.  Honestly haven't done any math so these are just kind of estimates so if anyone knows of anything that is close and a little above the range please let me know.

One thing you want to factor in, is that most of the nicer courses are going to have waitlists at this point. I know manufacture’s has one for my age group (38) at the moment.

Keep in mind that Cricket allows a 10 year payment option on the entrance fee. However, the wait list is still 4 years.
