This is awesome!!! I’d like to join you on the journey.

follow along. I have a guy who makes custom shaft labels. He’s designing me a Frankenstein KBS label as we speak that’s going to be green. And I’m going to get some BBF green ferrules and grips.  Now off to decide which club to buy first.  I posted in the want to buy section a baby blade PW as I’m thinking that might be the hardest one to find. Most the others I can buy a single iron new from manufacture

This is the most insane idea from a WRXer yet. I love it. You plan to stay consistent with shafts or mix them up too?

Only suggestion, maybe put less demanding models in the 4 and 6 slots and shuffle things around. Can’t wait to hear how this progresses!

yea I’m going to have same shaft and grip in them all. Just change heads.  And I’ll more than likely not go blades in the top 2-3 clubs to make it more playable for me

Back before I knew anything about loft, lie, etc. I was trying something like this myself. I was replacing some 40+ year old blades 1 by 1 from the clearance bin. I had a TM burner 6 iron, Mizuno t-zoid pro 7 iron, and an Adam's A20s 8 iron. I think about trying to finish it off, but I've got enough clubs already lol.

Of course individual P7TW irons are not sold new, so good luck finding a single #9...maybe Ebay.

You are a mad man and I support your frankenbag 🤖

I go a non ho older/cheaper route but have 7-8 different brands of clubs in the bag because I like picking and choosing for variety, and it does feel like I'm missing out less.  I wouldn't mind going for more brands as long as each club fits the role needed.

This is GREAT!!!!   Love it.  I thought i was crazy for doing something along these lines. Admittedly i’m not going different iron for each one but i have unintentionally ended up with a mixed set and its been AMAZING.    Currently gaming P7MB PW, P7MC in 9-7 , Zx7 in 6-5, Zx5 in the 4.    I honestly didnt attempt to do this but i had these multiple sets that i have been building (cuz im a crazy WRXr) and this mixed set worked best by far.   Ohhh and the shafts arent exactly the same either but they work & im sticking with em…..for now.  Ha.    Go for it man!!!

Did this same thing a few years back.  I picked the best club for each distance and went with it.  Had 7 different brands in my bag.  Played well but my OCD kicked in and I just couldn't get past the Frankenstein combination I had.   Do it.....

Those shaft labels are A1. Does your friend offer this as a service? I would love to get some custom shaft labels on my sticks too.

This is freaking brilliant. Really captured my imagination.

I like it on so many levels:

- We should view each iron as doing a certain thing anyway, shot shape, distance, feel... so why not take it to the ultimate?

- It addresses my dislike for doing something that's half and half, like having certain long irons and then different short irons. It breaks that apart because every single one is different.

- It has a shot at satisfying the itch to try this or that and ending up switching your whole setup over moving to one brand or another (but who am I kidding, it's not going to stop the searching for something new).

@texas_golfer Any updates on this?  Did you sell the set?

Every time I see a nice single iron on ebay I'm tempted to do this exact thing... There are soooo many good irons that I want to try.

    • APPLY NOW: L.A.B. Golf MEZZ.1 Putter (Early Access) Member Testing! 10 Testers Needed!
L.A.B. Golf is choosing ten GolfWRX members to receive their MEZZ.1 putter early and put their brand new product to the test before reporting back to the community about what they see. The selected testers will be one of the first to experience the MEZZ.1 from L.A.B. GOLF, their newest Lie Angle Balanced design, ahead of it's January 2022 launch!

About The L.A.B. Golf Mezz.1 Putter
MEZZ.1 is our new mid-mallet putter that’s fully CNC machined from a billet of 6061 aircraft aluminum (body) and 303 stainless steel (midsection) to create our best-feeling — and we think best looking — putter to date. It includes 10 weights (eight on the bottom, two on the sides) that allow us to individually build each putter to a golfer’s exact specifications.

      How To Apply
In a post below, answer the following questions.

      1. City, State?
      2. Handicap?
      3. What is your current putter?
      4. Have you ever used a L.A.B. Golf putter?
      5. Why do you want to review the MEAZZ.1 putter?
      6. Do you agree to participate in an ongoing testing thread, posting reviews and photos?

That's it! @labgolf and GolfWRX will choose the testers in about 2 weeks! This testing event is for good-standing members in the USA only!
