His US Am record, cut streak, outright 54 hole win %, win rate, and total under par in majors are all incredible stats. Hard to choose one that’s the best.

I said Fiori. So we are still at 3 of the 4. Ed Fiori, YE Yang and Phil.

Right, but I said outright 54 hole lead. There were only two players who have beat Tiger and you gave three players. The fourth player in your scenario was Retief Goosen.

You never mentioned outright lead. Your question as above was "Who beat Tiger after a 54 hole lead? YE Yang and…?".  A lead is a lead outright or not.

The post right above mine stated outright lead. The context was also Justin Ray’s tweet which said outright lead. I could have clarified that better.

Gotcha. I also could have read the other post you made LOL. So we have covered the 4 official PGA Tour events that TW did not win with a 54 lead (co/outright).

IIRC Tiger has 4 other events where he did not convert a 54 hole lead into a win. 2 were at his PGA Tour sanctioned but unofficial Hero World Challenge (Graeme McDowell - 2010 (TW lost a 4 shot lead after 54 holes. In a playoff!)/Zach Johnson - 2013 in a playoff!) and an ET event in 2012 in Abu-Dhabi where Robert Rock beat him.

Tiger also lost to Padraig Harrington in the Dunlop Phoenix event in 2006 in a playoff after being tied after 54 holes when Tiger was going for the 3-peat at the Dunlop Phoenix. One of if not the most prestigious events on the Japanese PGA Tour. Plenty of big name winners of that event.

ETA - Found a 5th (non PGA Tour) event where Tiger didn't convert a 54 hole lead into a win. 2001 Dubai Desert Classic. Tiger led Thomas Bjorn after 54 holes by a shot. Tiger shot 72 in the final round. Bjorn shot a 69 to win by two.

ETA2 - Tiger lost in a playoff to Nick Price at the Nedbank Million event in South Africa in 1998. Not certain who led after 54 holes. Tiger chipped in on the final hole to force the playoff.

I voted for the USGA stuff, though you can make a great case for any of the three.

It's just that USGA stuff is MATCH PLAY(!), which is just crazy difficult to dominate at.

Even bigger than the accomplishments in the voting are, I think, his post 2010 accomplishmets. Gets himself into all kind of physical and personal problems, 40+, and still when he comes back he produces staggering results. Back a mess, but pops out getting loads of top tens, wins Tour championship and then the Masters.

That and those streaks of 5-6 wins. heck, tour golf was never more boring. Those years, if he was anywhere close to the lead come sunday he won. I used to cheer for another guy to win, och cheered when Yang finally beat him. Guy was simply too good.

I'd go with the Tiger Slam over the cut streak and 82 wins over either. Jack Nicklaus was able to make 109 consecutive cuts which is closer to 142 than it sounds because 142 drops down to 111 if you remove the no-cut events. If we do the same for Jack his total drops down only a bit to 99 as far as I know. On the other hand despite Jack's remarkable major record (including 37 top 2 finishes) he never won 3 let alone 4 majors in a row. He won back to back majors only once, the 1972 Masters and US Open and then finished second to Lee Trevino by just one shot at the British Open. Tiger won back to back majors twice in addition to the Tiger Slam, in 2002 and 2006.

3 US JR AMs in a row

Followed by

3 US AMS in a row

This will never be done again

Winning 4 majors in a row + the TPC most likely never done again.  Basically 4.5 majors in a row.

14/14 majors after having 3rd round lead.  Never done again

Hey, Jake Paul is KO MMA fighters so who knows what can happen?!

🤣

I just went down a Wikipedia rabbit hole involving Jake Paul thanks to you.

PS - consecutive cuts is #1 for me. Gotta be demoralizing for everyone knowing he might be on the leaderboard at every damn event he plays for like 7 years straight.

A bag of left-handed junk.
