Fourteen RM-4 Wedges

TiScape

Recommended Posts

Yes, played the 56S and 60H. The 60 was the first lob wedge I got along with. I liked the TS101 shaft which I think is similar to the Ping Z115. I switched to Glide 3.0, mainly because I love the Eye2 grind. But the RM4 is a great wedge.

Just got an RM-4 Raw 56 H sole. Hit it for the first time yesterday and wow the feel is incredible. Spin was exceptional too, even on partial shots. Turf interaction was just what I was looking for; sharper leading edge and more playability to open the face around the greens. This is with respect to my 56 degree SM8 Vokey.

I have had some experience with multiple lofts, finishes, and grinds. I will say that the black finish is really cool but wears quickly. The Raw is absolutely stunning. The satin finish is pretty standard. The stamping is very simple, which I like, and the step blade design is a sweet concept but I would be lying if I said I could tell the difference between say the 54 and 60 with weight placements being different. I do know that what they have always done, which is generally placing weight higher in the blade, is a game changer. Can easily flight them down and feel is top notch. I've tried multiple forged wedges, including a plethora of JDM, and Fourteen takes the cake. Right now I am deciding between two setups I have, which is 54S/60H Tour Raw with KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 125 and 52S/58H Satin with MMT 125TX. The S sole is an excellent all around performer with great turf interaction. The H sole is very versatile and I would highly recommend that for anyone who likes to open up the face and/or play different types of shots around the green. I bought my Raw wedges brand new. I’ll add pics of when I got them. They are just insane.

It’s about time for me to replace my wedges, and these RM4s look beautiful but I haven’t found anyplace to hit them in person. Can anyone compare them to the Ping Glide Forged Pros and/or the TM MG3s? Or Vokeys or Zipcores?

I just ordered a 60H. I’ll be switching from a 3 wedge set up to a 4. I’m really excited to see how it performs for me long term. I’m also curious how the H plays out of the sand. Can anyone provide any insight?

Nice! Are you playing all 4 wedges as RM-4? You will love the 60H out of the sand.

thanks for the feedback.

do you take any fullshots with the H sole?

what types of shots do you usually use with it? and what do you use for 60 yards and in, 52 or 58?

and have you compared it to the S sole?

Right now I am playing 52S and 58H. Full shots with the H sole are no problem at all, although I don’t typically have use for that unless it’s a mega flop lol. 60 yards and in is mostly just by feel, depending how far I need to fly it, how quick I need it to stop, how much I can run it, where the pin is at, etc etc. If it’s thick gnarly rough, the H sole is the ticket usually.

So do the lower lofted wedges come in S?  Online it has only 56-60 that have s and h sole option.

Just got my Fourteen RM4, 58H* lofted down to 57*..

I have played RM22s in the past and recently played the FH Forged V1's. Have been playing the V1's for last year or so. Still go back to my trusty Titleist TVD 58* Still love the TVD..

Read rave reviews re the RM4. After a week of play, the RM4 is Fourteens best wedge ever (IMO) My RM22s and FH V1's going on Ebay. Can't part with the TVD tho.

RM4 has more spin than ALL previous Fourteen models and the reviews have it #1 or #2. By far H sole is perfect option for laying face open for flop shots.  Im sure will be adding the 54* lofted dwn 1*.

Is anyone able to provide info on how 14s compare to vokeys? Thanks

I play a 46, 52, 56 SM8 and a Fourteen 60H.

It’s not a direct comparison lob wedge to lob wedge but the Fourteen is softer. It’s also a little bigger and more round, which I kinda like in the 60. The H grind is great as it still has some bounce, but it has some toe and heel relief so you can open it up nicely.

I do really enjoy how my vokeys transition from my irons (t100) though.

I ended up going 52/58 satin mostly because I love the MMT shafts. If I could get the same setup in Raw I would do that, but can’t justify the $$ right now. Maybe when I wear these out I’ll get new ones haha.

Fourteen has a demo wedge program?!

Yes. You pay the full price of a wedge plus shipping and they send you a demo. When you send the wedge back they credit the full price to the purchase of a new wedge. So basically you are out shopping cost of about $25. Not bad to try it out.

Two rounds in with the RM4 wedges and i find them to be unreal. I have the 50/54/58H set that i picked up locally from another forum and the feel is incredible.

I am afraid these will kick my SM9's out of the bag for this season.

They’re really really good wedges.

i play the 50 and the 60H (turned down two degrees) and love them. I used to play a 54 as well but swapped it with a K-grind solely because it is easier (for me) out of the sand.
