Prospects/Prodigies lurking?

Tiger was talked about forever a potential prodigy. I don't follow the junior circuit, so are there any young kids lurking out there as potential freaks of golf that could win double-digit majors?

LOL. Definitely not.

My thought was along the line of will I ever get to experience another Tiger Woods?  A guy who was a better than even money favorite to win every golf tournament he enterted for like a 3-4 year stretch.  Someone who stands so far above the rest of the field that it's must watch television.

Truly exceptional golfers, or athletes in general, come around every 30-40 years.

 

Using golf as an example: Bobby Jones, Jack, Tiger  are spaced by about 40 years.

 

So the "next" Tiger is likely only about 5 years old now.

I don’t think it’s possible with the equipment climate.  Colin is the closest you’ll see. An exceptional ball striker is just above a mediocre one with easier to hit clubs we have. You can now actually buy launch, speed , and spin where once those were produced by talent alone.  Specifically in the 3 wood to 6 iron department.

the short answer is NO.....TW is a once in a lifetime player, be very thankful you got to witness any part of his career...with the exception of Jack's 18 majors, TW set or broke every other golf record, and he fundamentally changed the modern game of golf as we know it..Who else could get ANGC to "Tiger proof" their golf course...without TW golf may have been just another sport we watched like bowling or tennis....people got into golf BECAUSE of TW, he made golf cool again

-Tiger won three in a row following three US Jr Am wins. That’s six National Am wins in a row.

😜.  I don’t know why this tickles me so.  I’ve been laughing at that video all afternoon.  Maybe it’s the cinematic quality , or the seriousness of it .... or the bear taking a defensive posture at the end.  I mean it’s just chocked full of high points.  If I were a teacher with a cinema class , we’d dissect this one for at least 2-3 days.    Then we’d make the Sequel !   
 

ps.  At first I thought those maybe crocs .  Most people don’t know that crocs  have a “ battle mode “.  It has to do with where the strap is flipped , behind the heel or in front of the ankle.  I learned this from my 12 year old. If my man didn’t have them in battle mode.  Well. He got what he asked for !  But. These maybe just flip flops.  I know of no such battle mode for a flip flop.  Surely only a Sith Lord would be arrogant enough to attack with no battle proven footwear !!

 Those are flip flops. When things get serious Crocs go into 4 wheel drive.

No, no and no.  At least not in anyone's lifetime starting right now.   No "prodigy" will ever be able to handle the scrutiny and microscope society and the media will thrust upon them.  And of course the equipment thing...and maybe the gobs of money too...

 

Tiger would've caught Jack (he still might though doubtful), but the collective "we" destroyed him before it could happen.

It’s not a knock on Tiger cause he’s the GOAT, but I don’t know how you have someone as dominate as him in this new climate of young talent and equipment. All these young kids are so freaking good. The talent level on the Korn Ferry tour alone is amazing. And now you can swing as hard as you want and just adjust your specs to get it to go remotely straight, much different game. Remember when Tiger hit a blade 2-iron from 274 yards at Memorial onto the green and it was amazing? You can softly land a 5-wood from that distance now. My buddy is on Korn Ferry and use to be on Tour for 9 years, he can tell you how different it is now.
