Cobra King Tec Hybrid - King or Joker?

Owing to the fact I don't pay much attention to Cobra club releases, I was unaware of the CKT hybrid until seeing the below TXG review. It seems to have a good level of adjustability and performed very well for Matt in initial testing. I also like how it looks at address.

 

Is anyone here playing it and if so, how does it perform?

 

Could this be the sleeper hybrid of 2021?

Has my attention. Cobra Bio Cell were some of the best hybrids ever. Looks a little like PXG as well, another favorite hybrid of mine. Only thing causing hesitation on my purchase, is that all the shaft options are not available on this one for some reason.

Is this even available yet?  It looks good.  Not compact, but still made for a decent ball striker.  And I could put a weight in the toe and maybe have some confidence it won’t go left...

Yes, it's available to order on the Cobra website. Not sure about other stores. Looks like the stock shaft is the Mitsubishi MMT.

I have only hit it indoors but it’s very nice looking, looks very square. Good sound good feel and seems hot. I personally like the bigger head and the tech is all there. It’s definitely on my list to purchase

I'm not surprised with as much weight as they have clearly freed up to allow for all that adjustability. No matter though, you could easily decrease one of those 12g weights and add an equivalent amount of hotmelt and make it sound like a persimmon.

King for me, beat out my G425 3 hybrid and trusted Mavrik 5 hybrid.  Have only one range session and one round with it so far.   So much better for me, not even close.

I just went through a full bag fitting and this was the only hybrid I liked the look of at address and it just so happened the numbers were great. It will be a big improvement over my old cobra king f7 because that thing had way too much draw bias. im excited to get this one in

It’s easy to hit, forgiving, high ball flight, with a solid feel and sound. It’s a bit larger than most hybrids, but not too large. I’ll post pics tomorrow.

Can anyone speak about performance off the deck? My current hybrids are great off the tee, but I need something that will launch easily from the fairway on par 5s, which mine don't. How does the KTH stack up on this criteria?

This is easily the best Hybrid I've ever hit. It looks clean as F!@# at address and instills confidence. I only 2 rounds on mine and I've been striking it great. Turf interaction was solid so I had no problem using it out of fairway, rough, or off the tee. I've played hybrids from both cobra and callaway in the past and this beats all the ones I've tried.

Starting to play again after an injury this summer, but this is a very nice hybrid.  I have been playing with 816/818 hybrids since the 816's came out and this is the first hybrid that made me want to switch.

I have 20 shots with this over multiple rounds and it’s amazing. I have the 2H. It’s great off the tee or the deck. I have changed mine to draw setting and it’s so predictable 👌 It’s relatively expensive but much better than my Speedzone 3H that it replaced.

I have had it in the bag for almost two months now.   I hated paying for it, but absolutely love playing it.

 

I had horrible hooks with any hybrid I ever hit before, sure every once in awhile I would hit some good shots but the bad ones were just off of the planet.  I do not have this issue now.  Do I hit some less than stellar shots?  Sure, but I have yet to hit a huge rope hook unless I almost miss it off of the toe.  My general miss is toe side, and I am in love with this hybrid.

 

Two things, it is not small.  Loft for loft it doesn't hit the ball as high as similarly lofted fairway woods, but it is higher than most hybrids. I have been experimeting with a stinger type shot, and it shows promise.  I am not ready to put that shot into play yet, but I am close.  I think of this club as a HyWood.  It is a little of both and does the best of both for my game.

Point and shoot for me. Even in the "neutral" weight setting is antidraw. Head is not as oversized as people think

These are awesome. Have the 2-3 & 4. 
 

turned the 2 down to 15.5* and can hit it off the deck easy. Dumped my 3 wood. 
 

3 is turned down to 18*
4 turned up to 22*
 

I usually can’t hit hybrids because they  balloon on me, not these. I actually prefer long irons typically. With these you can go high, low, draw, fade….. anything you need. Even use them for long putts off the the fairway and rough. 
 

I have the weights in the forward neutral setting. 
 

amazingly versatile clubs. Love the loft adjustments.

My longtime Stage 2 Tour 3h just broke, I'm giving a lot of thought to going with one of these as the replacement.  It has a lot of positive buzz, and I have general affinity for the last 6-8 years of Cobra sticks.

 

Looking to use this club as a 5w/2i replacement.  Thinking it could do nicely.

Any more info on these. Found a new one for sale and bought it. Figured why not for price. It’s just sitting there all pretty in wrapper still so thought I’d get some more reviews. I got the 17 degree hoping it might take 3/4 wood spot. Trying to figure out top end of bag. Thanks for any feedback

I’ve heard nothing but good things on these. I love the shape and adjustable weights. If I wasn’t happy with my g425 hybrid I would definitely try it.

Just to add to this topic. Almost won my club championship because of this club, lost by 2. As it was the club championship and we have a lot of seniors we played one in from the tips so basically didn’t need driver. 
 

I decided to play smarter than usual and just hit the hybrid all round on holes I haven’t before too. I hit some chunky toe shots that still went 200 and some over 260. Here is my Arcoss data for the 2 days and I have about a 106mph driver swing. 

Loving it and I have had it for 2 seasons but never used it as a tee weapon until yesterday.

I had a 17 cobra and a 17 uw. I found the cobra to be larger, and higher launching than the UW in the same loft. I ended up going back to a 4 wood rather than either

I play the ckt 17° 2 hybrid as a 3 wood replacement and it's been great. Doesn't launch that high but it's enough for what I use it for. It will stop within 15-20 feet of a ballmark from 215/220 out so no issues there.
