I agree extreme dark. I have the 0211 ST which are as soft as butter. Specs of the 0211 ST and Gen4 T are very similar. Soles and offset are smaller on 0211 St. These have slighty weaker lofts by mostly 1 degree and slightly less offset than the 0211 ST. Gonna grab eventually after I raise some funds off my "friends".

I am going with the stock silver screw weights since I will be installing the PX LS shaft which are a matching silver along with silver grips...nice matchup.

EDIT:  Going with Project X 6.5 Blackout shaft instead...very similar profile..see below..a bit stiffer in the tip but softer butt.

My first xtreme dark PXG irons were the Gen1 T back in Feb. 2016 as well as the Gen2 P irons later.  The Gen3 100% milled ST were the first silver finish head I owned followed by the Gen3 T.  Yes the faces do wear but it was not an important issue.  The rest of the head just looks great and contrasts to the ball well.

Gen4 ST has some design changes that may be a precursor to the next gen5 0311 irons.

Here are the changes in the new ST that may carry over.....

1.  Variable blade length;

2.  Cavity back in the long irons.

Why? You think they’re better than the new Gen 4?

Technically, the first generation ST came out when Gen2 was still the current release. I don't believe they label them Gen3 anywhere on the irons. But, they have them listed under Gen3 currently on website and appear to be a precursor to Gen3 design, so whatevs. Like all new clubs, they might add some fine tuning and improvement but nothing earth shattering. Being able to get the darker version on Gen4, not available currently on first STs, seals the deal for me.

I think the big screw is ugly but they went from fully milled to only partially milled.  I'm sure the expense for the fully milled was astronomical.  For that reason, I think the Gen3's will appreciate.

I had the fully milled ST, but the finish was a big problem and I could put a mark in it with a fingernail.  Terrible.  Probably the soft milling issue.

The Gen4 ST not only does away with that problem but like the other Gen4 models has the large screw weight that makes it much easier for fittings, builds to get the SW correct.  Had the Cally Apex 21 MB with the large screw in the back...same idea...no issues whatsoever.

The Gen4 ST design is an upgrade over the prior model with a better non milled finish, varied blade length, minimal offset and was inspired by the staff pros.

"They talked. We listened. New PXG 0311 ST GEN4 Blades were inspired by our tour professionals."

Based upon all these improvements and since they are not a typical "plain Jane" back blade for me I have decided to try them again.

They're pretty good. Had one issue they resolved quickly. Good to hear, I always get mine quickly as well, can't make everyone happy all the time I guess.

I ordered a blowout driving iron from them for $89 bucks. it will be exactly 1 week from order to delivery. For their non-top-of-the-line, that's impressive delivery time; their website states it could be built 10-14 days after I placed my order but instead they delivered even earlier than just the build portion of the timeline. Color me impressed.

Let me know what you think when you get them.  I really like the Gen3 ST's so far.  The finish could be an issue as they are extremely soft.  I was playing Miura MB101's but gave these a shot.  I have been pleased.  They are more forgiving for sure.  I just don't like the big screw for some reason.

Got my Gen4 ST PW yesterday and color me impressed. I previously played the Gen3 T irons but never liked the pitching wedge so I opted for the pitching wedge in the ST line. I loved it. When I ordered the Gen4 T irons they didn’t have a replacement for the ST so I kept it all season but never really felt like it blended well with the Gen4 irons. So when I saw they released the Gen4 ST I immediately ordered up a replacement PW. It arrived yesterday and I quickly pulled the stock shaft and replaced it with my gamer, Project X LS 6.5. Cut it, gripped it and took some photos to show comparison. The Gen4 doesn’t have the same sole grind on the leading edge as the original ST, I tried to capture it. They also have a different groove pattern on the face and look just slightly larger, although I don’t have calipers to measure. The new one also looks to have less offset, again tried to capture it. Playing this afternoon so we’ll see how they feel. Can’t wait to give it a spin.

I also play the Gen3 T irons and rather like them.  Excellent feel and performance.  I recently got a sugar daddy wedge (56*) and the feel is unreal.  So that gets me thinking that they reduced the Gen3 ST significantly, so why not get that feel in all of my irons.  So, I am contemplating getting 5-W under the theory that they won't be much different than the Gen3T, but will probably have the nice feel that the sugar daddy does.  I would be inclined to keep my Gen3 T for long irons (3-4) since I don't use them an enormous amount (not as common as the 5-W anyway) and they perform/feel very well.

How is the durability?  In those photos, can I ask the course conditions?  I would guess desert soil is going to have an effect whereas here the soil is nowhere near as rocky.

Thoughts?  Thanks in advance.

I play about 100 rounds a year in the Midwest and couple dozen in Florida and other parts of the country. I also go to the range almost every single day so those clubs take quite a beating.

the ST is not anywhere near as forgiving as the T. Completely different animal. I would hit them before going all in.

Do you think Pat Perez painted the center silver screw in his xtreme dark G4P irons?  😆

I saw these on an IG advertisement. Reach out and check compatibility for the ST's, it might be worth a shot.

Decided to spray paint the silver center screw weights...all the existing center weights worked with the new shafts to get me the desired swingweight.

Used:  VHT Epoxy Paint, Satin Black SP652

The color matches the finish on the iron well.   High temp and all weather epoxy paint that should last in this location on the head.

Of the eight weights, two I had to use a butane torch to loosen the Loctite Red that it seemed was used.

I placed them back with Loctite Blue which is easier to remove.
