PXG Gen4 ST

Had a bottle of wine last night and decided to order the irons and a bag.

However, they’ve gone up to £169 an iron, +£35 for DG120, and aren’t on the 5 club promo like the rest of the Gen 4 irons. When I first thought about ordering they were £85 +£20 for DG. Back to the drawing board.

Damn you and your crazy pricing, Parsons 😄

When do we think the next discounts will be? Thanksgiving? Black Friday?

Whenever Bob decides to scratch the itch to be honest...Over the last few years he's run pretty good sales during the fall holidays...But this won't stop him from dropping prices beforehand...Just keep checking the website periodically is key...

Anyone know how these compare size wise to the Ts? Sort of itching to possibly get some in the scoring iron lengths at some point.  Anyone hit both and able to compare them performance wise as well?

The Ts is very slightly larger than the STs with a little thicker top line. They blend well. In terms of performance, the Ts give me a flatter, hotter flight and feel a little firmer and more muted. The STs play like a traditional iron with slightly stronger lofts. Higher trajectory and more spin.

I have the ST currently. And will be switching to the T. The ST when struck well are incredibly soft with just enough feedback to let you know it was struck. The T’s when struck well are almost as soft, slightly more feel.

In the end, I’m not playing enough to keep up with a blade and decided the extra performance from the T is more beneficial than letting my ego drive club choice.

That's good to know thanks! Will have to see how I play the Ts first then ponder if adding the STs might be a good idea or not. How would you say they compare in terms of forgiveness, relatively speaking?

Guess you sorta answered my above question haha. That's what I was wondering though. If/when the time comes perhaps I'll start with 1-2 of them and see how I like them and go from there.

Surprisingly the ST was more forgiving than expected of a blade. And off center shots were felt, but didn’t sting. I was about 3mph ball speed slower with them on avg compared to the T

I haven’t had the chance to hit them but the ST blade length is about the same with a top and sole slightly thinner than the tours. Will post more feedback once I have chance to play with them.

Could I possibly trouble you for a top line shot, please? Just want to see how scary the ST long irons are!

There’s a photo a page or two back of gen 4 T next to ST.

Haven’t hit the 0311ST gen4 yet.  Only bought 8-G.  I saw the 0311 T gen3 is now $100/stick so I ordered them for the top end as a combo set.  Will try them out this fall

Tried them out today.  Was striking all the irons well.  The combo set is perfect.

  • 3 months later...

After a 6 week lay off due to knee surgery, decided to go out for a round today and used these beauties. They feel so good and perform excellent. Great feel, flight and excellent green holding spin. I know they've moved on to the 0317 ST, but if you're able to grab a good set of these, you won't regret it.

I will be playing them when the season starts in the spring.
