Champions Club Scotty Putters - Where were people purchasing these?

Just the title. I see these getting listed everyone with the large markup due to limited quantities. These limited releases, how does one get into these? Specific stores or what? I'm so confused!

There were lots of opportunities for preorder—even Dicks Sporting Goods. Early bird gets the…well, you get it.

Some stores had some for walk-in customers today too. Most had 5 or more so people were waiting out front before they opened

I requested a 35" NP2, was put on the list, was told Wed that  was taken to make my preference for remaining six. The Flow back 5.5 35" was available today, I passed.  

 

I wasn't a fan of the current Select and not really a fan of the paint scheme so just as well.

The flowback is really nice. Wasn't sure I'd like it but took the plunge and I actually really enjoy it, not as much as a newport but I'd still game it. But everybody's stroke is different

How many of these did they make? Like 10,000 or 1,000,000? What kind of scale are we dealing with?

Supposedly 2,000 per model, 6,000 total.

Don’t worry if pricing follows the T22, you should be able to pick one up in a couple of months or so for a little over retail. I sold my T22 for $750 about 6 months after the release and many others were listed around that price point once the enthusiasm dies down.

The T22 had a second batch released a couple months after the initial release. Anyone who was looking could find them for $600 from retailers with relative ease. Around that 6 month mark, the Cameron market slumped due to the unknowns of the pandemic. Now the market is very strong. Assuming production is finished, I don’t think the T22 price history is the best guide.

The second batch was a part of the initial 2k pieces per model wasn’t it?  That’s also true about pandemic issues.

I'm not confident the price of these very limited, very desirable, putter models will drop significantly during a time when people have A. Record levels of cash on hand and the price of everything is rising B. Interest in Golf as a sport is at an all time high C. No remaining hope to purchase at initial retail pricing 

 

Although maybe not a prudent financial move, I plan to strip the paint job from my gamer. I hope to keep it for a very long time.

I’ve read the T22 ended up at 8,000 total but don’t quote me on that.

I picked up my lefty Newport 2 through my club. Ordered it the day these were rumoured. Very excited to get a piece of the action on the limited scottys. Usually they are left to the righties only.

Has anyone that preordered the Champions Choice putter from Golf Galaxy received any notice of shipment or order fulfillment?  The status of my order still shows as "in process".  I ordered moments after the release was announced so I assume I was pretty close to the front of the line in preorders.  I don't see that they have charged me for the purchase yet, assuming that will be done when they fulfill the order.  Let me know if anyone else that ordered from Golf Galaxy is having this issue.

My local guy  tried to sell these with a huge markup and claims they will be worth 1500 eventually but I don’t believe him.

Not Golf Galaxy but special ordered through Scheels a few weeks back and it's still "in progress" with no shipping date yet. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if these stores botched their ordering process and I'm a little skeptical it'll arrive, frankly.

 

Btw I know a guy who bought 7(!!!!) The morning they released and he just sold all 7 for $1100 each to an international buyer who plans to resell them in his country.  The international market apparently is even hotter than ours for limited Scotty's.

My local shop called me on Friday and asked if I had any interest in the one LH they ordered before it went on EBay. I wasn’t even aware of the Champions Choice release and thought it was a boutique brand. Then I googled it and immediately drove to the store since I’m still sore they didn’t make the Tel 3 remake in LH. I’m very thankful they support my putter addiction.

I got a Newport 34", and Newport 2 in 34" and 35"
