Not convinced KC has all the answers yet. This game could convince me but I will take the 10. 
I am off of the Wentz bandwagon. I will take Houston +8.5. Colts should do enough to win but I see a Houston playing hard and keep it within a touchdown. 
Something tells me Mike Tomlin made life a little tough on the Steelers this week. I am guessing they might surprise the Ravens with a classic hard fought rivalry game at Heinz Field no less. 
The line is up to 4.5 ripe for the picking. I would have taken the Steelers at that number but not 3.

And maybe if only for an hour or two both the U. of M. and the Lions games help lift the spirits of the families and friends who knew the kids who were killed in the shooting earlier in the week. I truly hope the wins might have helped.

Can I say I love the call by Harbaugh. That took guts, and regardless how it worked out, anyone on ESPN who questions it should be canned.  Herm has said it for years, “You play yo win the game.”

It was doctor's orders to take another day of rest and not return to work yet following my bout with the flu earlier this week. I wasn't going to spend the day indoors, especially with the weather forecast. I badly needed some fresh air and also a check on how much energy I had regained. I set up a game at Crooked Creek in Hendersonville 20 miles away. I was fortunate to grab the last tee time in the mid morning. We had a threesome,  Kirk, Matt, and myself.

The course was so crowded I had to wait for a hitting bay on the range. I hit 5 gap wedges, 5 hybrids, 5 seven irons, and 5 drivers. I was making solid contact and the only noticeable weak spot was my shots hit with driver were all pretty low. I sort of blamed that on the fact the the range balls were assorted 20 year old Wilson's, Top Flight's, and other rock balls. I rolled a few on the practice green and found smooth conditions and fairly fast green speed. I altered my putting grip a smidge. I put my right hand more underneath the grip in an effort to lessen my chance of taking the putter back outside the line, which is something I struggle with. I also moved the ball 3/4 of an inch closer to my toe line. 

 

At 10:10 we sent our first shots into the December air.

Weather?   Asheville set a record high temperature for December 3rd with 76 sunny degrees. 5 mph breeze. 

 

I started out steadily and made par's on the opening 5 holes. Made my first bogey on number six. Finished the front 9 with par, bogey, par. I made the turn with a two over 36.

Ten is the longest hole on the course. It played 435 for us. Drive was pure but then I pulled one into a line of pines left of the fairway with my 3 wood approach shot. I had a shot to the green but I chunked my low punch 3rd shot and it finished a good bit short of the green. Up and down for bogey. 3 over on the day. On number 11 a par 3 over water I thinned my 6 iron tee shot so bad by coming up and out of it that it only went 10 feet high and found the water on the far side of the pond. I re teed and hit the green. Two putts and it was a double bogey. I was five over. I followed that messy par 3 effort up with two fairway's hit and two GIR's and then two putts on the next two holes. 5 over thru 13. On fourteen I missed the green with a blocked 7 iron. I failed to save it. 6 over. Fifteen is a short par 3 of 128 yards. I hit a nice 9 iron to inside 12 feet but wasn't unable to capture my first birdie there. Par. Six over with the 3 finishing holes to play. I hit a down the middle drive on 16 followed by one hell of a 7 iron approach shot from 145 to three feet. Putt dropped for my first and only birdie on the day. Back to 5 over. Fairways and greens on the last two holes and no boo-boo's on the final two greens. Coming off my worst round in months with only 3 greens hit I greatly improved statistically on Friday.

I certainly got back on track with a 77.

I beat Matt by 2 and Kirk by 4. 

 

The round took 4 hours and 20 minutes to play, which wasn't so bad given the course was packed do to the stellar weather. I hit the driver extremely well and my iron game came around nicely. I chipped and pitched solidly all day. Thankfully my putter cooperated and even though I only had one birdie attempt fall I didn't botch up other holes with my flatstick. I felt in normal health all day, and found I had plenty of energy for the round. It was wondrous being out there for hours under the sun with temps in the mid 70's. The weather I know helped to heal me the last little bit that was needed. Seemingly it was just what the doctor ordered.
