Help on TM Made For Shafts

Recommended Posts

Hi to all

This is my first post so apologize if this is not the right place for this is.

I am a 16 hcp playing with a TM M6, shaft Tensei made for Orange CK 60 stiff. I am very happy with it, confortable and confident with it.

I have been given the chance to move to the TM SiM, with the Ventus 6R also Made For at no additional cost. Only issue is that I wont have the chance to try it, and is it is difficult to find it in the show close to me here in europe.

I am not that worried about the club heads, as they may be very similar, as always with the last TM heads (M2,M4,M6...). I assume the SIM is more comparable to the M5, but I tried it in the past and I found it good for me.

However I was wondering to know if you have tried these two shafts, if they are comparable, totally diferent...any advice can help

Thanks in advance!!

PS sorry for the spelling mistakes, if any, as I am writing from the phone configured in another language!

These are my SIM2 Max / Ventus 5S and Ping G410 Tensei CK Orange S. Prior to the Ping, I used an M6, which I probably shouldn’t have gotten rid of.

while their overall flex is not significantly different, their balance and feel is very different. If you prefer your counterbalanced Tensei, the Ventus would not be something I would buy without demo. I am finding it rather difficult to play both, and will likely sell one to avoid swing confusion.

Thanks a lot guys for your answers.

@Stuart_Gthat s actually a possibility but as I wont have the chance to try them as the person would rather prefer to stay with the Ventus as mine is Stiff , but not sure If I will be losing something with the swap.

@Jeff58thanks for your words. When you say that balance and feel is diferent in which sense you are talking about?

It seems the ventus may be softer, with a mid to high launch and higher spin. Are these the differences you refer to?

Ths!!

As you may know, the Tensei Orange is counterbalanced. That makes it easier to release/rotate the club head through the impact area, similar to swinging a hammer with your hand away from the end of the handle. The combination of fade bias weighting on the SIM and standard weight distribution results in two quite different shot patterns given similar swing mechanics.

I would wholeheartedly disagree that the Ventus is softer or higher launching.
The original SIM will spin a bit less than your M6. The SIM2 MAX will spin noticeably more regardless of shaft.

After reading some more reviews i see they tend to go on your direccion so Understood, this said and as the engine of the club is the shaft, I think I will only switch heads and I will keep my stiff shaft. At least because i know how this one behaves...

I tried yesterday a similar ventus in a SIM2 MAX, the 5S un this case, the feeling was good but not as good as the one I has with the Tensei

Thanks for your help!

Hi.

I am a club fitter. If you don't get the chance to hit the shaft then don't even entertain buying.

2 completely different profiles which will play differently.
