Boonie style hat or bucket hat for sun protection?

Receding hairlines and male pattern baldness just look pathetic, IMO.  That's a true sign of a beta male.  🤣  Better to shave it clean.  I look pretty damned good bald, I must say.  I guess some guys don't have the right dome for a shaved head, but I lucked out.

I don't have a head for the shaved look.  The back of my head is flat and in my youth, I once shaved my head... found out I got Klingon ridges in the front.  Fortunately, there's zero baldness in my family on both sides.

I wear a cap with a neck shield.  Neck shield does a great job protecting the ears and neck.  I tried wearing a those boonie hats, but my awful back swing would hit the brim.  Also I don't know if the Adidas sun hat is any bigger fitting than the Titleist Aussie hat, but I wear a XXL motorcycle helmet.  There's no question I have a big noggin and the Adidas sun hat fit a tad snug on me.  Might work for some other big headed folks.

Tilley makes a great washable  nylon, the cotton duck material stains quicker, the nylon( green underside) is a great hat and looks better than the floppy brims; And comes in huge sizes available for my watermelon head

Another thumbs up for Tilley hats and Sparms sun sleeves. Tilley hats come in a lot of head and brim sizes and they're really well made. I bought a T3 Wanderer last year. It's a boonie style with a floppy brim, but it doesn't bother me when playing.

I'm really surprised how much cooler Sparms make my arms feel and the less sweaty hands is a huge bonus.

I used to be a high crown visor guy but I switched over to the Aussie hat last year.  It makes a huge difference.  What cracks me up is everytime on the range someone makes a positive comment on how much more sense it makes than a cap.  I used to come home and crash on the couch after playing; with the Aussie I dont have that issue.  Playing in Richmond heat, the sun bakes hard and it is a must to take every step to avoid sunburn.  I knew a guy who wore a cap for years and ended up getting a ton of his ears ravaged by cancer, so I will take the wide brim and avoid ear surgery.

Also recently bought the Titleist Aussie. Works great and don't find it distracting at all.

I’m big on Titlieist Aussies myself.  Keep three in the rotation, both for sun protection and for fashion. 🏌️♂️

The Ping Boonie is great, it's light weight with  a brim width in between a bucket hat and some of the wider brim Boonie style hats.

I have a Ping boonie, and it both looks and fits great; you're right about the brim size, too.

I will add this note, though; that hat is NOT UPF rated, and that for me is a deal breaker; I wear it around the yard or when I'm walking the dog, but never on the golf course for four or five hours.  I love Ping stuff in general, but it is disappointing to me that they didn't get this done.  There have been discussion here on other threads over the years about how much that rating does or does not matter, but I can't think of a reason that I would buy a "sun protection" garment of ANY type, hat or otherwise, that a manufacturer wouldn't get UPF rated.

If only Titleist Aussie would be produced in an XXL version as well...

I'm an admitted "water head" and depending on the hat brand I'm wearing fit into a 7-5/8 to 7-3/4. The Titleist Aussie has an adjustment feature and fits me just fine. I've worn Boonies in one fashion or another for better than 40 years and the Titleist Aussie is as good as any other.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.
