Rangefinder cart attachment for older/bulkier rangefinder

Hey guys,

 

I’ve got an 8 year old Bushnell rangefinder that is one of the ones you looked through from a horizontal perspective, not like the vertical one hand units today. I used to have a screw in the back of it that would slide down into a product that was magnetized to the cart to hold it. Called Bushnell and they can’t replace the screw and I can’t find one on eBay or anywhere. So, I’m turning to the straps, wraps and etc that are on the market today. I’ve looked into several and the overwhelming response is that the magnets barely handle the lighter vertical units so I don’t have faith for a heavier, bulkier unit. 
 

Do you guys have any suggestions?

That’s what I have currently. But I lost the screw that screws into my Bushnell to clip it into the quickclip.

I just gave the screws away to a buddy. I had two of them. Maybe somebody will have one laying around as the magnetic strap is so prevalent now

Take it up to a local hardware store/Home Depot/Lowe's, go to the screw aisle and start trying them out till you find one that fits.  Fasteners are generally some sort of common size, particularly when part of a mass produced product.  There's a good chance that hole is threaded for a common size screw, just need to figure out what size.

Or, call Bushnell again. Instead of asking how to replace the screw, see if you can figure out the specs of the screw. 

 

I'm quite sure they have a description of it that will likely call out in their product system the actual thread. If you get lucky [and talk to the right person], I'll bet someone can look up the BOM (bill of materials) for your exact model rangefinder, drill down through their system, and dig up a mechanical drawing for the screw that will call out literally EVERY single spec of it.

If you're unable to find the right replacement parts, I had good luck with the monument golf XL magnetic strap when I had the Bushnell Pro X7.
