Ventus Velocore Blue 7S - damage

Recommended Posts

Basically brand new. Whoever attached my adapter last did something wrong with epoxy because I tried to remove my head and the paint / end of the shaft kinda splintered and broke.  The length didn’t break, just the end kinda splintered and peeled a little.
I’m selling as is.  Everything appears to be solid and not breaking anymore.  I was told by golf Galaxy guy a new adapter could just be applied and would most likely cover and be fine.   Length is 40.5” as this is for 3 wood or 5 wood. Or you could cut and tip the shaft and use for a hybrid or driving iron

I don’t know if it broke off or not. Golf Galaxy guy threw adapter away. He fought trying to get it out of the head after it broke off.
Have one of these shafts in every one of my woods and hybrid.  I don’t know what’s the best route. But I don’t think it was tipped at all before. This is a fairway shaft not the driver shaft from what I was told when I bought it.  I think tipping it a little now might be best route. I’ll listen to offers.

Whoa , the tip that's splintered isn't prepped and leads me to believe the shaft actually broke off in the adapter and then splintered up the shaft?

How much was the shaft tipped before this happened?

sorry didn’t quote you on reply. Not sure if you’ll get notification

Hate to say it, but that shaft looks trashed. By the time you trim and prepare the shaft, it will be 1-1.5 inches from the lettering, making it 'tipped' enough for Hercules. Maybe it can be saved, but it certainly doesn't look like it.

If you paid Golf Galaxy for that , and they broke the shaft off in the adapter , I'd hold them responsible. That shaft is tipped inches now by looking at it due to the shaft breaking.

Looks like an incompetent club builder owes you a shaft or reimbursement.

i don’t know anything about this kinda stuff. That’s why I’m selling as is. And willing to listen to any offer sent my way. But for what it’s worth. Guy at golf store did seem very optimistic it could be saved

Of course he did , he broke the shaft and wanted it to disappear. Sorry , but I'd take it back.

no. He didn’t break it I did.  All i did was loosened the screw to adjust the loft and settings. Tried to pull the head off and it snapped like this.  But the adapter stayed stuck inside the head. So I took up there to see if anything they could do and at least get the adapter out of the head for me

Was the club purchased with the shaft? Might be a warranty consideration if it snapped at the hosel.

Please visit the Golf Galaxy and speak with a manager. They owe you a new shaft. That thing is trashed and can't be saved based off of the pictures. I'm furious for you!

it was my fault not theirs. But really not even my fault. I didn’t do anything wrong. It just broke.  And trust me. I’m furious too. Just bought this and mizuno stz head. Wasn’t cheap.

Ahh , gotcha. I wouldn't sell this to anyone unless they were going to use it for something other than installing it in a golf club. It is unusable as it is , whether you cover it up with an adapter or not.  You would have to cut it and tip prep it so much to get rid of the splinter , it'd become a 5 iron shaft. And then , it still may break.

Totally agree with this, my brother hit his Callaway 5 wood on the hosel and snapped the shaft and Callaway replaced everything for free under their warranty. I understand the circumstance is a little different since you were trying to get the head off to adjust the loft and my brother was hitting his club (or the shaft lol), but I've got to think that's a warranty defect which caused the shaft to break. Definitely worth a shot reaching out to Mizuno to see if this can be resolved.
