Buy G 425 or wait?

Really like the 425 irons but afraid by the time I get them the new model will be out.  What is realistic delivery? Don’t really want them in November. Thanks

Rumor has it Pings China factory is shut down

If you have clubs to play the rest of the season, I would wait. Not a lot of season left here and with a 12 week wait on custom orders, I am waiting till spring.

that is true.  got word yesterday from Ping.  There is no time frame for delivery on new orders.  If you can find them in store somewhere buy them and send them back for lie adjustment if you need that done.  Repairs are taking about 2 weeks for turnaround.

Pretty certain that Ping is gonna replace the G425 line up the earliest in 2023 judging from their 2 year life circle

Ping is a 8-12 week wait for customs. You are waiting no matter what..

But, by not playing them......you'll never know if they are the perfect fit

That's what they get for exiting the USA and going to China - Boo, Ping.

There's no way Ping is replacing those any time soon. It won't be for another year at the earliest, but probably more like 18 months.

Do you want to have a newest mode on the block, or one that hits the ball well for you?

by the time the new model gets to your hands, it will be 2024.....

If your going to get what ever iteration of the G iron they produce, highly doubt that it is going to be much different if at all to the newer one.  The G's change in performance doesn't vary much from one model to the next.  They change more with cosmetics than performance.  I say if you like them, especially the looks, go for it, unless you just want the latest model.  GL.

The delivery delays is a real issue.  An order placed now could take many months to arrive.  That said, I would not wait any longer if you want the G425's.  Get the order in, and let it roll.  There will not be a new G model coming down the pike soon. 

 

And in reality, all G irons are great.  I currently have my G425's at Ping for a little tweak, and in the meantime, I am playing G410 irons.  Still awesome irons, and doesn't matter that they have been replaced by the G425s.  Same will apply to the G425s when they get replaced.
